2011年10月30日，由协会和联合国工业发展组织共同召开的2011中国国际气候变化论坛 CIFCC 在北京召开，主题为: 绿色发展:政策与行动。 协会秘书长李军洋在开幕辞中提出，应对全球气候变化，减少碳排放是当前国际社会的共同责任 联合国工业发展组织与国际节能环保协会共同举办此次论坛，致力于在低碳发展方向导引下，寻求构建绿色发展的政策与行动影响体系，以各方合力推进政府应对气候变化的进程 他呼吁 共同携起手来，勇敢的应对各方面的困难和挑战，坚定不移地支持，并采取行动应对气候变. 联合国工业发展组织驻华及东北亚首席代表柯文斯 Edward Clarence-Smith 代表主办方致辞，他说 气候变化是一个非常复杂的问题，虽然本质上来说它是一个环境问题，但是它影响到了全球上的各个方面。 丹麦王国驻中国兼任驻蒙古国大使裴德盛 Friis Arne Petersen 在主题演讲中，评价中国在低碳社会方面的建设行动非常快，而且有非常多的跟气候变化及能效方面的目标 中国现在已经是世界上太阳能光伏发电最先进的国家，有着世界上最大的清洁能源的工厂，中国已经在逐步实现绿色增长。
