Monday, October 10, 2016. I had this spare 30x40 wood panel substrate that was begging me for a painting. But you know I paint small so this was going to be a challenge. The first iteration was a striped landscape. It felt forced. The second iteration was better but dark and lacked energy. The third iteration nearly didn't make it but when I had the mixed media details of charcoal and conte crayon plus the paint splatters in the foreground it worked. Yes!
