Now, remember how Alan and I (well. mostly I) have anguished over how we will get ourselves and our animals to Mérida? Within a few months after we arrive in Mérida, the vehicle will be 10 years old and, if we were told correctly by Girl Friday, we should be able to nationalize it with our FM3's. If anyone can verify this, we would appreciate a comment. Other's have said we need the FM2. Links to this post.

With our home in Virginia now actively on the market, we must turn our eyes toward the necessary steps to get us ready to actually pack the van with a few tropical weight clothes, our two dogs and cat, and head out for Mérida. The immigration laws have changed since we began this journey and although we can't foresee any problems, we must make a few decisions about how we will proceed. So much to do.

Our tummies full, we walked back home, thankful to have found a home in this culturally rich city.

No, here in Merida, it looks as if there was a great migration at some point in the city's past of the venerable Volkswagen Bug. We jokingly called her Saint Claire. Not that she was saintly, but she seemed so compared to the rest of us. She had a great sense of humor. She had a bulls@#t meter that was spot on.
