Life Over Here: December 2011
http://mysojournhere.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 24, 2011. In my own heart. First After reading this article. I was so humbled and challenged-I have such a long way to go before I feel my celebration of Christmas will really reflect the One whom I claim to love and follow and worship. I read on a friend's blog not long ago, "I love Jesus, and sometimes I act like it." I felt like that was a perfect description of me! I had been feeling kind of happy (proud) that whenever Maya sees a Santa, she shouts out, "Snowman! She loves her brot...

Life Over Here: September 2011
http://mysojournhere.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 29, 2011. The plans of men, the itching, and the new due date. Well, after weeks (months really) of thinking, conversing, worrying, speculating, weighing and praying about whether to do a repeat C-section or to go for a VBAC (vaginal birth after Cesarean), the decision has been completely removed from my hands-YIPEE! My due date was October 13th, but we need to travel Nov 4th, which means we would have had to accomplish the following between his delivery and our travel date:. Because ...

Life Over Here: our LITTLE guy
http://mysojournhere.blogspot.com/2012/09/our-little-guy.html
Monday, September 24, 2012. He eats this week, then we see a nutritionist Oct 3rd to try to discern if the problem is diet or something else. As we've tried extra hard the last few days to get this boy to eat, it has become really clear that we have not been feeding him enough and we haven't been patient enough with him. The average meal is taking him an hour. Oh my word. Seriously? He has to carefully chew and swish around every single little bite of smashed beans? A teaspoon of olive oil! September 26,...

Life Over Here: First Day in America
http://mysojournhere.blogspot.com/2012/12/first-day-in-america.html
Monday, December 3, 2012. First Day in America. It's 1:54. In the morning. My child is sitting here with me in the kitchen eating her weight in lunch meat and blueberries (jet lag is a b! Blog about what we did today (since Snapfish is still crippled and non-functioning, UGH! Just a few minutes ago, Maya walked up to one of the stockings hanging on Grammie's mantle and pointed to a Santa and said, what's this? Sooooo, any good book titles about the real story of St. Nick? I'm going to go. In the meantime...

Life Over Here: April 2012
http://mysojournhere.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Mommy S.O.S. Hello Anybody out there? If you are, I'm sending out a Mommy S.O.S. The source of this S.O.S. is dinnertime. I. Feed Zain, put Zain to bed, then sit down (at the coffee table, usually with the TV on) and eat. Around 8:30 pm This is a TERRIBLE habit and I hate it. It is bad for our bodies (you're not supposed to eat anything after 8pm, if you want to lose weight, right? Bedtime and I have managed ZERO downtime for ME, which I. She is a total mess. I know these oth...

Life Over Here: June 2012
http://mysojournhere.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Hey there, blog world! I've been away for a while. We've had a lot going on that maybe someday I'll write about. Who knows? Sorry for the long absence. I've missed "talking" to you and hearing back from you! Yesterday while sitting with Maya at the breakfast table, she asked me, "Is your sad? Translation: are you sad? So then I started to brainstorm, what does it even look like to be a good mom? How will we (and our kids) survive this? But I am often grieved by the fact that I f...

Life Over Here: Exercise in Futility
http://mysojournhere.blogspot.com/2012/07/exercise-in-futility.html
Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Today, I had a plan. Matt is out of town for the 2nd day, so I decided I would actually get up early and have some time with Jesus before my kids woke up. Then I got them both changed and milked up and back in their beds (because that first wake up of theirs is crazy early! And while they rested/slept, I got showered and dressed and so by about 9 am, things were rolling around here! Kids were dressed, I was getting them fed and we had a plan! Don't hold your breath. . . Never Once...

Life Over Here: March 2012
http://mysojournhere.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Anything sometimes. This dude says it better than I can, just watch the video. Sunday, March 4, 2012. Zain is changing so fast and I've hardly written about him. He is rolling over, both back to belly and belly to back. He is blowing raspberries. He is laughing and smiling like crazy. Just about two days ago, he discovered his hands and you will often find him holding them up and staring at them now. He sleeps through the night only occasionally. He is so precious! I had just fo...
