Lisa mixes a solid analytical approach to sports performance with endless enthusiasm while drawing on her own experiences as an elite racer. She challenges pre-set limitations you have placed on yourself, believes in a work-life-training balance and has been hugely successful in making me a stronger, fitter, faster cyclist. She has helped transform me from the racer I imagined I could be to the one I am. 8220;Have to say, thank you! 8220;Lisa has been great in guiding me toward my goals and beyond! Havin...

From there we can have a bit of a chat/exchange some emails and then I’ll send you a questionnaire to complete which will let you tell me most of what I’ll need to know for us to get started. Peg's Wheels: February 2015
http://pegswheels.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Adventures on a mountain bike. Sunday, 15 February 2015. This is quite a lengthy blog about my adventure on the Kiwi Brevet 2015. I don't expect anyone to read it unless they are a close member of my family, an insomniac or someone reminiscing over or contemplating a similar adventure. If you fit into one of these categories, or just have nothing better to do, enjoy! Stumpy fully loaded on the train to Wellington. I caught up on a little sleep on the ferry and then got recruited as an extra in a comedy s...

Adventures on a mountain bike. Dear Mr Porter, did you ever consider a tunnel? Daybreak in Lees Valley. Sheffield Pie Shop - world famous in New Zealand. As we crested Porter’s the rain started. Welcome to the West Coast! We pushed on over Arthur’s Pass and down Otira Gorge. Knowing there was a cabin waiting was a huge relief. Poor Mike put up with me pointing out every Coast to Coast landmark on the way. No risk of dehyrdation today. 8221; Synchronised and very rapid “Yes! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Peg's Wheels: Day 6

Adventures on a mountain bike. Maungatapu Track - steeper than it looks. I was keen to carry on, with the smell of the finish in my nostrils. I know it’s “not a race” but I was still pretty keen to be first woman home, since if I couldn’t manage that when I had missed out 180km, then what hope was there? A mediocre Sounds picture. Not worth losing a driving license over. A jelly bean every km, and the thought of cold beers in the square kept spirits up, and I enjoyed the climbing more than the gravel des...
Peg's Wheels: Day 2
http://pegswheels.blogspot.com/p/abbreviating-brevet-day-2.html
Adventures on a mountain bike. Riding time (start to stop including stops along the way): 8hrs. I spent a very pleasant morning hanging out in Hanmer with the Emmens, and catching up with all the riders coming through. A lot looked the worse for wear and there were not many good things said about the St James track, maybe I had picked a good option? Dale refueling in Hanmer Springs. Still smiling 220kms in. One leg warmer. Doesn't seem to have caught on, and has wreaked havoc with my tan lines!
Peg's Wheels: So, a blog?
http://pegswheels.blogspot.com/2013/09/so-blog.html
Adventures on a mountain bike. Sunday, 1 September 2013. So, a blog? If this blog inspires someone to get out and go for a ride, feel the wind in their hair* and the satisfaction of coming home caked in mud often proudly sporting a new bruise or scrape, then I will have achieved something. Even better, if I can inspire more women to mountain bike, because we are vastly outnumbered, and that’s just crazy! Why should boys have all the fun? Obviously through the vents of a standard approved cycle helmet.

Peg's Wheels: Day 1
http://pegswheels.blogspot.com/p/abbreviating-brevet-day-one.html
Adventures on a mountain bike. Cutting things fine, cutting things up. Just as the briefing kicked off, I was hugely relieved to receive a text from Bill, “bikes all good to go”. Phew! A missing spacer was the problem. Next time I might try to take 2 days off work to make sure everything is ship shape well before I leave. The main take home message from the briefing was “don’t be a dickhead”, should be easy enough to remember. Five minutes later a Caterpillar ute drove past heading west. I didn't wav...
