Creative Dabbling: Three things

http://creativedabbling.blogspot.com/2015/07/three-things_14.html

These are three things I like this week:. 1 Making technology work for me. I bought a new modem/router for my internet connection a few weeks ago but couldn't get it to connect to my ISP. I always find these sorts of things take much longer than originally expected, so I reluctantly put it aside until I had a block of time. 2 Brilliant carnival organs. Just look at this beauty! This is one of the photos I took while attending a party at Fairground Follies. On the weekend; it's a Mortier Taj Mahal.

Creative Dabbling: May 2015

http://creativedabbling.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Three things I like this week. Life consists of many small events. At the time, we often don't realise how they will influence our life. That's why I love to take notice and appreciate each moment. Here are three things I like this week. I was at the game on Friday night (the first in this year's. AFL indigenous round of games). 2 The novel habits of happiness. 3 Green onion pancakes. Have you ever tried these? What things do you like this week? Three things I like this week. Great invention, eh? I'm not...

Creative Dabbling: Three things

http://creativedabbling.blogspot.com/2015/08/three-things.html

It's been a challenge this time but I guess that's the point - to focus on the positive and not let the negative get to you. Here are three things I like this week. Delicious straight from the plant, these crispy delights are prolific in my garden. I'm munching snow peas every day for two reasons: I love their flavour and picking them makes more develop! That's a win-win in my opinion. 2 Discovering there's more beneath the surface. 3 The Sydney Swans Football Club. Make me happy - please leave a comment!

Creative Dabbling: Textiles Tuesday

http://creativedabbling.blogspot.com/2015/05/textiles-tuesday.html

Here's my latest batch of interesting information for you. Love A Good Yarn: knitting and crochet from Nanna to now. Is an exhibition at the Migration Museum in Adelaide. It explores these crafts and showcases some of the treasures from the museums collection. Closes 31 August. Has released her second ebook in her Creative Journeys. Series: Beading on Fabric. Here's a fascinating project - a hand-stitched copy of the Magna Carta Wikipedia page. That explores the fabric of democracy. Check out these quilts.

Creative Dabbling: Three things I like this week

http://creativedabbling.blogspot.com/2015/05/three-things-i-like-this-week_18.html

Three things I like this week. Celebrating the small things that make life lovely! 1 Leaves. I've been photographing different leaves on my plants, both indoors and outdoors. This is a closeup of a dieffenbachia - aren't those curves and shade variations gorgeous? There's so much to see when you get up close to plants. 2 I've read four of the library novels I mentioned last week: The Chocolate Promise. By Josephine Moon, Someone is Watching. By Joy Fielding, The Country Practice. Three things I like this...

Spring Blossom Quilts: November 2012

http://springblossomquilts.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 6 November 2012. I have started my fourth child's knitted hat (or beanie) for charity donation. My friend Philippa started me off during our time in Tasmania for the orienteering championships. The pattern is very simple in 3x3 rib and easy to do in the car (as a passenger! Or in front of a TV program. Here are the latest two hats. Monday, 5 November 2012. Many of the cacti were flowering as a bonus. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow this blog with bloglovin. Spring Blossom Quilts: Quilt Top Finished

http://springblossomquilts.blogspot.com/2013/02/quilt-top-finished.html

Monday, 18 February 2013. Another finish for 2013! A completed top in 'French General Rouenneries' fabrics for my Mum for Mother's Day. I made one for Dad for his 80th also using the "Broken Bricks" pattern in greys and taupes. I pieced a backing from the same range of fabrics (still working through a FQ pack I bought from the US when the dollar first hit 1:1 ). The quilt top is off to a machine quilter on Sunday. Peppermint Patcher: Farewell

http://peppermintpatch.blogspot.com/2007/05/farewell.html

Friday, May 25, 2007. One of the first things that I bought with my own hard earned cash was a sewing machine. A little Janome that cost me around $350 in 1984. At the time I was at uni and my car was worth less. I clothed myself for many a year with that machine. Five years later I was married and living in Brisbane while my Pete was at uni. I was teaching, so I had an income. We had no debt and no children. I went to the Brisbane Ekka. Faithful machine, we have stitched many, many kilometres together.

Serendipity and the Art of the Quilt: A Farewell Quilt

http://serendipitypatchwork.blogspot.com/2006/12/farewell-quilt.html

Serendipity and the Art of the Quilt. Friday, December 29, 2006. I don't know about you, but I find the rhythms of quiltmaking to be wonderfully therapeutic; a sense of wellbeing envelopes me when I am at one with my sewing machine and there are few things more satisfying than knowing that your quilt is destined for an appreciative home. I found a suitably cheery border and backing fabric on sale (please excuse the crooked photo):. Posted by Brenda Gael Smith at 7:45 pm. What a great gift! I have tried t...

Lyn's Quilt Cottage: Happy Easter and Rag Rugs

http://lynsquiltcottage.blogspot.com/2010/04/happy-easter-and-rag-rugs.html

Sunday, April 4, 2010. Happy Easter and Rag Rugs. Happy Easter Sunday everyone. I have been indulging in something related to quilting but not at all quilty. Well it uses all the scraps and strips that you couldn't find a use for and had trouble coming to grips with. I was challenged at my Quilty group the other day to make a Rag Rug. So in the process of having a cleanout I found a container of strips all ready cut and a crochet hook so I set to. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Friday Night Sew In.

Lyndoch Patchwork: Busy, Busy, Busy.

http://lyndochpatchwork.blogspot.com/2007/05/busy-busy-busy.html

Tuesday, 29 May 2007. Busy, Busy, Busy. My friend Dierdre in Atherton had a baby boy on the 18th so I have made him an I Spy quilt. I quilted that tonight and just need to sew down the binding tomorrow before sending it on. I know it will be well received. I will be heading to Mannum again on Friday for 3 days of uninterupted sewing. Yipee! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Nuriootpa, Barossa Valley SA, Australia. View my complete profile. sarah bell smith: I'm still alive

http://sarahbellsmith.blogspot.com/2015/03/im-still-alive.html

Well it has been a long long long time since I last posted on here. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth but things in my life have changed quite a lot. In December last year my dad became extremely sick and was expected to die. He pulled through, but it was a very long recovery process and so that took up a lot of my time. I spent a lot of time home on the farm helping out as well as just trying to keep up at work whilst knowing what dad was going through. Posted by Sarah Bell Smith. Hi Sarah, goo...

My book of the month: March. Have you ever postponed starting a new book because of the avalanche of rave reviews that you read? Maybe I subscribe to too many book review tweeters and bloggers? Maybe too many authors are heavy-handed with retweets? That's something for me to ponder because it delayed my reading of Jane Harper's current novel, Force of Nature. Three pages in and I was hooked. That's important to me. Is a fabulous mystery. Read more about Force of Nature. March 12, 2018. February 26, 2018.
