Crush on Color: The Weekly Critique

http://crushoncolor.blogspot.com/2009/04/weekly-critique_29.html

Wednesday, April 29, 2009. The last part of design work for Spoon was to produce a few other cover prototypes. Most of the sell line typography is consistent with the original cover. I tried to always make the logo really contrast with the background. I particularly like the bright yellow on the fall cover. Mostly, I'm just happy to be finished. But, as always, I'd love some critique as well. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. There's a new serif in town. Come Out and Play.

Crush on Color: This week in Veer: Photochromic Ink!

http://crushoncolor.blogspot.com/2009/04/this-week-in-veer-photochromic-ink.html

Wednesday, April 29, 2009. This week in Veer: Photochromic Ink! A week or so ago, I got this neat little cardboard postcard from Veer. (You should sign up to be on their mailing list for lots of cool stuff.) Anyway, it was a great, type-based beautiful postcard, that I didn't think much of at the time. Here's what it looks like. I was looking at it again today and actually read it (smart, I know) and discovered that if you take it outside, you'll get a special message. Really? View my complete profile.

Wednesday, April 29, 2009. As we looked at everyone's site's on Tuesday, I took a second to think back about where we all were at the beginning of the semester. Not only did we all accomplish the massive amount of design work and special projects, but we're all able to build a functioning, attractive web site. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thursday, October 29, 2009. A tale written in third Person. I don't know if this constitutes as a bedtime story, but here is a design tale:. There once was a tall, skinny (no offense) boy named Chase. Chase was a really good musician, even though he would never admit it. Chase was in a band and when the band's era came to an end, he decided that he couldn't give up his passion for music. One day Chase decided to record some of his piano songs (which, you can download here. Christy is a designer. A tale w...

http://christysolberg.blogspot.com/2009_09_20_archive.html

Friday, September 25, 2009. Photoshop was my car companion today. I decided to blend a few more photos from my travels and make something that focused around lights. When I was in Europe, I made it a point to photograph as many lampposts as I could find (at least, lampposts that I thought looked cooler than the average lamppost). Some of my favorites were taken in Paris, so for a background image (the criss-crosses that you see) I used a photo of the Louvre that I took. Have a great day! Have a great day!

MEET MY CREATIVE SIDE: NYLON Magazine Contest

http://christysolberg.blogspot.com/2010/01/nylon-magazine-contest.html

Friday, January 29, 2010. Thanks to Twitter and my hilarious and lovely sorority sister, Nora Silver, (plug for her band,. Cover Girl is teaming up with Nylon Magazine for their latest advertising promotion. The challenge is to conjure up a package design for Cover Girl's "Lash Blast Length Mascara." Apparently it has a fancy Elasta-Nylon formula, hence the mash-up between the two companies. Next, I went for something simplier. Have a great day! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tuesday, 18 August 2015. TGIFCTD03 - It's time for a throw-down! It's time for TGIF Challenges Throw-Down - August Edition! The concept is easy; choose at least four items from the mystery box, add your staples from the pantry, and create a paper masterpiece! The catch, though, is that you can't use anything else - nada, squad, nothing, bupkiss. That's where it gets really tricky! Oh, no, can't use one of my punch boards. I know - I'll do a card-in-a-box!
