Teign Birds: East vs West
http://teignbirds.blogspot.com/2015/07/east-vs-west.html
Wednesday, 15 July 2015. A brute of a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull. That was on the Salty yesterday evening and again this morning is the best the east end of the estuary has had to offer of late along with an adult Mediterranean Gull. On Tuesday and up to eight Sandwich Tern. A quick look off Passage House on this evening's high tide drew a blank with regard the Gull-billed Tern (it was still present until 14.30 at least) but a single Black-tailed Godwit. And four Common Sandpiper. The Two Bird Theory.

Stuart's Wildlife Diary: November 2014
http://stuartswildlifediary.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 25 November 2014. Hoopoe at Dawlish Warren, 24th November 2014. On my day tour in Norfolk on the 14th November we chatted about birds and on being asked what bird I would most like to see in the UK, I replied with hoopoe (Carl's was Siberian rubythroat). And in a bizarre twist of fate a hoopoe was found at Dawlish Warren the next day (15th)! Hoopoe in Egypt 2013 - the view I was hoping for at Dawlish Warren in 2014. Hoopoe in Egypt 2012 - not the view I had at Dawlish Warren in 2014. Pink footed...

Stuart's Wildlife Diary: December 2014
http://stuartswildlifediary.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Monday, 22 December 2014. American Wigeon, Newquay, Cornwall. I haven't been out properly birding since my visit to Dawlish Warren on November 24th! And so with finally a free day on December 20th I was very keen to get out and about - but where to go? American Wigeon (upper centre). American Wigeon (upper centre). American Wigeons (upper right and upper left). I headed back to the railway station, watching a little egret catching fish in the boating lake along the way, and while waiting for the train I ...

Colyton Wildlife: Black Hole Marsh gets exciting!
http://timwhitewildlife.blogspot.com/2015/08/black-hole-marsh-gets-exciting.html
Thursday, 13 August 2015. Black Hole Marsh gets exciting! Wednesday saw a great increase in numbers of waders on the reserve. Afternoon Ringed Plover number was 4, but there were at least 21 there by Sunset. Lots of pics to come (and I'll soon have time to do it due to redundancy). I also found a Ruff today; this is the first patch Ruff of the Autumn. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. KNOT another wader post. Better LITTLE STINT and CURLEW SAND pics. Colyton Wildlife: August 2015
http://timwhitewildlife.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 26 August 2015. KNOT another wader post. I thought I'd join the bandwagon of having a slight pun in the post title - I caught up with the Knot on Black Hole Marsh this evening. A fairly scarce bird on patch; this was only my fourth. Here's a couple of snaps:. Tuesday, 25 August 2015. Better LITTLE STINT and CURLEW SAND pics. Black Hole Marsh was a bit disappointing this morning! CURLEW SANDPIPERS join in the party. Sunday, 23 August 2015. INCREDIBLE number of WOOD SANDS at Black Hole Marsh.

Colyton Wildlife: Comma Butterfly Pic
http://timwhitewildlife.blogspot.com/2015/07/comma-butterfly-pic.html
Friday, 17 July 2015. A pic of a butterfly to liven up this page! There's a lot going on for me at the moment, hence the lack of activity here; sorry about that! I will rectify this very soon. It's not easy to take aesthetically pleasing photos of butterflies, but I quite like this one. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Colyton Wildlife: October 2014
http://timwhitewildlife.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 31 October 2014. RED-BREASTED FLYCATCHER - Lifer on patch. Sunday, 26 October 2014. GREY PHALAROPE - Brilliantly Obliging. I haven't been able to spend much time out with the camera this month due to masses of work, but with a couple hours free this afternoon I thought I'd try for the Budleigh Salterton / River Otter Grey Phalarope which has been present for almost a week now. It was actually a lifer for me (yes, really) so to get such close views of this most tolerant bird was great!
