I have a lot of pictures ready. and I will try to post the recipes soon. Meanwhile, my best friend, Madhuri asked me for 2 recipes: Tomato Chutney and Mint chutney. Here are the recipes for you Madhuri. Tomatoes- 4-5 big Beef Steak tomatoes- cut into about 1" cubes. Red Chili Powder - to taste. Mustard Powder ( Recipe below).

Vazakkai Poriyal / Plantain Curry. Plantains - 2 nos. Channa dal - 1 tbsp. Urad dal - 1 tbsp. Red chilles - 3-6 nos, depending on your spice level. Black pepper - 1/2 tsp. Jeera - 1 tsp. Coconut - 1 tbsp. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp. Salt - as per taste. Mustard - 1 tsp. Curry leaves - 3-4 nos. Serve this with rice and kuzambu.

Verkkadalai Sundal (Peanut Sundal). Peanuts - 1 cup. Red chilles - 2 nos. Mustard - 1 tsp. Coconut - 2 tbsp. Curry leaves - 4 nos. Unripe mango (grated) - 1 tbsp. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp. Hing - 1/4th tsp. Steam the peanuts with turmeric powder in pressure cooker for a couple of whistles and drain them well. Sep 9 - Sep 16.
