Devil Birder's blog: May 2014
http://devilbirder.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, 4 May 2014. I had an awesome first visit to Fair Isle on Wednesday with two lifers, two new forms and a whole set of other quality birds. Our mode of transport. Our first views of the famed isle. The male Cretzschmar's Bunting. Showed distantly in rough grass at Boini Mire on arrival. And just down the road was this dazzling male Caspian Stonechat. Red-breasted Flycatcher - my first spring sighting. Short-toed Lark, left, with Skylark - an overdue lifer. Possibly my first spring Wryneck.

Friday, 27 September 2013. Spotted crake at Oare keeps us waiting. Today I went with David Campbell to Oare Marshes. There were a few Curlew sandpipers, ruff, dunlins and bar-tailed godwits. There were quite a few golden plovers, lapwings, shovelers, redshank and teal, and a whole host of black-tailed godwits. However the main attraction was the spotted crake which had been there for a few days. Nothing for it but to wait for it to show again. A nice end to the afternoon. Links to this post. Welcome to David Campbell's blog, documenting bird sightings from Nonsuch Park, Cheam, Surrey. Thursday, 21 August 2008. The month ahead: Nonsuch Park in September. The attention at the park turns from young Kestrels to large numbers of Jays with peak counts of around 30 (total of nearly 100 sightings in the few visits I've made in this month). Autumn migration is still in full swing and you have a very good chance of gripping me off with a potential Nonsuch lifer for me! Great Spotted Woodpecker (4).

Thursday, 22 March 2018. West Worthing and Goring. While working this morning, I noticed the Firecrest. In the garden again, along with a male Blackcap. And a Coal Tit. Later in the day I headed to George V Avenue for a seawatch but this was so quiet that I gave up after 25 minutes, notching up only singles of Red-throated Diver. Along with two Sandwich Terns. Three Great Crested Grebes. And three Red-breasted Mergansers. Wednesday, 21 March 2018. Goring and West Worthing. Flew over and a Goldcrest.
