The Eccentrics, Egotists, Bullies and Cowards of the Internet. Written by Kel Smith. March 15th, 2015. April 24th, 2015. 8220;If you create the Internet as false, then you create the not-internet, which gets to be real.” So says sociologist and writer Nathan Jurgenson in a piece written last week by Kyle Chayka. Thoughts on communication, usability, accessibility, and whatever. Getting at the core of UX – UX Camp CPH 2015. I was quite eager to hear the opening keynote for Day 2 of UX Camp CPH. Ida Aalen had flown down from Netlife Research in Norway to talk about the Core Model and share experiences in using it at the Norwegian Cancer Society, Telenor, and the Norwegian Blind Society. I really loved Thomas’ talk the previous evening. And follow her on Twitter: @IdaAa. I’m a fan! The Core Model at UX Camp CPH 2014.

Alpha Beta Delta Theta. Discover. Consider. Create. Failure is an option #3. About my failures…. I started way too many mini-projects: two scenes, one with a heads-up display; a main menu that looked crappy; a progress bar script that wasn’t working correctly; and a few more concepts I didn’t want to lose. I didn’t have a good way to allow the user to test their headset connection before entering the game level (thus the additional scene). Unity Debug Example (QuickTime). Create a thread within Unity....

Alpha Beta Delta Theta. Discover. Consider. Create. Failure is an option #1. I guess the theme for today is failure or, rather, learning from failure. It’s a good thing. Unfortunately I have found that the work world (or rather the profit-focused corporate world) doesn’t believe this. Turn off anti-virus (in my case, Avast).
