Thursday, November 18, 2010. Guest Post - The 5 Largest Earthquakes Ever Recorded. So I was contacted a little while ago by someone wanting to write a guest blog post that would fall in line with the essence that is the Geoscience Education angle that the blog goes for. So I agreed after I heard her idea and this is what we have today, our first guest post from a fellow blogger in her own right, Alvina Lopez. Http:/ earthquake.usgs.gov/learn/facts.php. This guest post is contributed by. There was a serie...

Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Geology Through the Radio - Pompeii. Listening to the radio the other day this song caught my ear. Little did I realize what the title of the song was (Pompeii by Bastille). Then actually listening to the lyrics, I realized that that was what the song was actually about (not some fancy title that has nothing to do with the song what-so-ever). Here are a set of the lyrics. And the walls kept tumbling down. In the city that we love. Great clouds roll over the hills. View of the...

The Geology P.A.G.E.: Dinos in Pop Culture - Salt Lake Comic Con
http://jazinator.blogspot.com/2014/07/dinos-in-pop-culture-salt-lake-comic-con.html
Monday, July 28, 2014. Dinos in Pop Culture - Salt Lake Comic Con. Here are some more dinosaurs in pop culture (I call this catching up on things):. During the previous Salt Lake Comic Con (September, 2013) there were these really cool dinosaur "costumes" roaming around the exhibit floor. Turns out they were for an exhibitor called "Dino Media" that had a website at www.dinoevent.com. However, that website appears to now be defunct and the Facebook page. Labels: Dinos in Pop Culture. Thursday, February 26, 2015. Dinos in Pop Culture - Camp Makela T-Shirt. So I recently permanently retired one of my favorite t-shirts. It was from the Museum of the Rockies Paleontology Field Camp program to Camp Makela. My favorite thing about the t-shirt was the "I dig dinosaurs" on the back, which I never noticed for the longest time. I just assumed it was the same as the front. Links to this post. Thursday, January 29, 2015. Drunk on Geology - Inversion IPA. The next up in the Drunk on Geology. Series is Inversion IPA. Produced by Deschutes Brewery from Bend, Oregon. Salt Lake City on a nice day of inversion. A nice beer to calm all paranoia about what the inversion is doing to my lungs. A nice picture showing what an inversion looks like from above is pictured on the box. I just wish they had included some words on what the meaning of an inversion was on the box or the bottles.
