Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle. - Psalm 144:1. New Adventures New Links. On a side note, I decided not to order the Qu'ran online. With all the government action going on these days, I'd rather not start myself an FBI file. A simple, anonymous bookstore should work just fine. :). Posted by David at 7:09 AM. A certain group of staff at the last church I was a part of made their church work their life. They NEVER talked about anything unless it was ...

Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle. - Psalm 144:1. If you've never seen the movie, this post will make absolutely no sense. I'm working on my church's website and I popped in The Neverending Story for some background noise. I'm at the part where Atreyu just got rescued by Falcor the Luck Dragon, and he's about to have to walk through the First Obstacle on his way to visit the Southern Oracle. Atreyu wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between t...

Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle. - Psalm 144:1. TEXT: The Book of Proverbs. I'd like to talk about levels of accountability today, but in order to properly explain it I need to go back to wisdom, knowledge, and understanding for a moment. Knowledge is mere factual information. It is morally neutral. The more knowledge you have, the more understanding you are enabled to have. Now that we've reviewed, let's talk about levels of accountability. Hopefu...

Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle. - Psalm 144:1. FREEDOM 10: Freedom and Worship. TEXT: 1 Chronicles 9:33, 2 Chronicles 29:31. I'm not a scholar of worship in the analytical sense. I love to experience worship. I especially love how many varieties of worship there are, and I am amazed at how faithfully the Lord responds to worship when the hearts of His people are sincere. I love that He loves music. Picture from Mark Hardin's Artchive. The Israelites w...

Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle. - Psalm 144:1. TEXT: Matthew 16:24-28, Mark 10:17-22. Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses hils life for My sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? I kno...

Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle. - Psalm 144:1. The Year in Review. Merry Post-Christmas, everyone, and Happy New Year! Of course, it isn't really about what you get. But I won't deny it - I love the commercial side of Christmas. I actually wanted to find one of those aluminum Christmas trees that Charlie Brown would hate, but the best I could do was a fiber-optic one. Maybe next year. Some of the things I remember most about this year are:. Pluto bein...

Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle. - Psalm 144:1. Shining Morning Light pt. 2. It is so amazing sometimes how easily we fall into such subtle deceptions. I was so distracted by my problems and issues that I forgot how great and powerful God is. I started trying to figure things out on my own, when really they're non-issues compared to God. Posted by David at 9:43 PM. The Worst Bed Ever. Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle. - Psalm 144:1. It's all snowy here! I love it, but it's crazy. Nobody knows how to drive in the snow, so it's not the weather that makes it dangerous, it's all the idiots out on the road. I think I counted at least five people driving while talking on their cell phones during a ten minute drive home in the middle of a near whiteout. Oh well, at least I can go build a snowman. Posted by David at 8:34 AM. Once that happen...
