全体として期待される役割 色々な方法でのニュートリノ物理に関わる実験の実績を持ち，加速器実験や理論の分野においても先進的な実績を果たして来ている日本から， 一人一人ではなく グループとしてまとまって，少なくとも一つの重要な部分での指導的な寄与を果たすことが，ダブルショー実験の推進にとって非常に重要です。 日本には，スーパーカミオカンデ，カムランド，K2Kなど多くのニュートリノ実験において実績があります，また，加速器実験含めて高性能光電子増倍管 以下，PMT=PhotoMultiplier Tube や大容量液体シンチレータなど原子炉ニュートリノ検出に必須の技術に対しても豊富な実績があります。 ダブルショー検出器全体の技術検討を行う技術委員会 Technical Board のメンバー，予算関連の議論を行う予算委員会 Financial Board にも委員を送っています。 ニュートリノ信号用PMTの開発，設置と運用 これは，日本グループメンバーが全員で 中心的な責任 を担っている，最重要部分です。 具体的には， 電子１個 を 電子１千万個 まで増幅します。

実験の直接の目的 飛んでいるニュートリノの種類が周期的に変わる現象を ニュートリノ振動 と呼びます。 このページでは，その研究の為のダブル ショー Double Chooz 実験の概要について説明しましょう。 この実験の特長１ 発電をする時に生じるニュートリノを， 基礎科学 研究に利用する事です。 この，ある意味では 廃物利用 で， 最先端のニュートリノ研究 が出来るのです. 例えば，ある地点で飛び出した 電子 ニュートリノが，徐々に τ タウと読みます。 ニュートリノ検出器は，(1)ニュートリノが反応して僅かな光を出す標的とそこからもれたγ ガンマ 線を捕らえて光らせる部分，(2)それらの光を感じて電気信号に変える部分，(3)宇宙線などによる雑音 バックグラウンドによる信号を検出する部分などの，バウムクーヘンのような多層構造になっています。 ニュートリノの変身の度合い ニュートリノ振動の測定 さて，ニュートリノの信号を捉えるだけではなく，それによって 飛行中にニュートリノがどれだけ変身して，発生した時の種類のものが無くなったか を知らなければなければなりません。

Double Chooz ダブル ショー 実験が目指している物理ーニュートリノ物理. しかしまた一方で，標準模型は，理論自身の中で決める事ができない という事は実験でしか決められず，なぜその値になるかを標準模型が予言する事ができない パラメータの数が多すぎることや，非常に広いエネルギーの範囲での自然の仕組みを未だ不自然さ無く説明できていないと言う問題や，その他，基本的な面で解決できていない問題が幾つもある事から， 究極の理論 とは考えられていません。 しかし，宇宙や原子炉から飛んで来るニュートリノを用いたスーパーカミオカンデ実験，カムランド実験，SNO スノー カナダ 実験，更には加速器で生成されたニュートリノを用いたK2K実験やMINOS実験等での最近の研究から， ニュートリノが振動現象を起こす. は値が小さい為観測が難しく，これ迄の実験 Double Chooz実験の前身のChooz ショー 実験 で，その上限値 この値よりも小さい事は確かだと言う値 が与えられているに過ぎません。 ダブルショー Double Chooz 実験では，この最後の振動角 θ.

The Double Chooz experiment, which will be performed at a commercial nuclear power station near the border between France and Belgium, will search for the last unmeasured angle of the neutrino mixing matrix with an order-of-magnitude better precision than previous experiments. A nonzero value for this mixing angle would open the possibility of searching for CP violation in neutrino oscillations. Now published in PRL.
