A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER. I would be remiss if I didn’t say something about the loss of Dave Mirra. He grew up just outside of Syracuse in Chittenango NY, and there’s lots of folks in the bike scene here that knew him and rode with him in those early years. He was an ever-present figure of my sports-centric youth, and though I never got into BMX, I have fond memories of watching him and the scene around him in the ‘90s. He will be missed.
