What is sound deadening? What is sound deadening? Sound deadening is a way of making a car interior quiet, reduce rattles, road noise and vibrations. This will increase the ride comfort by reducing noise, heat and improve the stereo sound quality. A car without rattles or road noise will feel more comfortable, it's quite a sensation when you go thru a pothole and you don't hear any rattles or the only noise you hear is the suspension working with a muffled sound. What is sound deadening? The 406 Coupé was the first car that I did any type of sound deadening. I had no experience so I relied on what others would say would work. I did some tests, saw the type of products that I should use and revisited some parts of the car later on to redo some parts with different materials. The car was bought in 25 of January, 2006. It was traded in a dealership for the C6 with more than 255.000km on the clock. Dynamat Extreme on the bonnet. Roof deadened and C pillars revisited.

What is sound deadening? I bought the C6 as a replacement for the 406 Coupé. The car was bought in the 2nd of June, 2012. It's the 2.7 HDi V6 Exclusive in Bleu Mauritius with the Wadibis interior. Unfortunately it's a diesel, but I really wanted a C6 and I couldn't find a petrol one in Portugal. Now I'm probably deadening the entire car. The boot had already a lot of sound proofing materials.
