Artblog Of Illustrator and Graphic Artist, Pete Correy: Airbury Academy
http://nonesuch-pete.blogspot.com/p/airbury-academy.html
Is a comedy/drama comic series I created in early 2006. Set in a girls' preparatory school, it is a schoolyard youth-based drama with equal parts comedy and adventure, as it follows the girls' lives over the course of their one year at the prestigious school. The series began out of my fascination with institutions – schools in particular – as well as a desire to create a comic based loosely on my own school experiences. The series was inspired by the 1989 film Dead Poets Society. Airbury Academy Volume I.

July 21, 2015. On July 4, I spent the day taking photos around Sydney's hipster suburb of Newtown, a very interesting area visually. Even the Fire Department has a sense of humour! Here's my tribute to the January 14, 2015 issue of Charlie Hebdo. S cover art, the first following the attacks on their staff. Cartoonists forever, and all that! For those who don't know, "Cheer Up, Charlie" is the name of a song from the 1971 film Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. Links to this post. Design in an hour. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

July 12, 2015. Iroha' is a famous Japanese poem from the 11th century; each hiragana character is used once in it. Read vertically right to left, the poem translates as:. Artblog Of Illustrator and Graphic Artist, Pete Correy: Juliet Prime
http://nonesuch-pete.blogspot.com/p/juliet-prime.html
Is a series of comics I have been making for over 13 years. The character of Juliet herself was created while mindlessly drawing in a notebook during a particularly boring university lecture on April 30, 1999. The character of Dave, her sidekick, was created later that night. The next day, the first of ten (or so) nine-panel comic strips was produced. They were posted on my then-website The Mintox Quango. During 2000. One of these strips was submitted to now-defunct Recovery. The image on the left is an ...

Artblog Of Illustrator and Graphic Artist, Pete Correy: January 2014
http://nonesuch-pete.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
January 30, 2014. A series of paintings I did on four cushion covers, with a musical instrument theme. The paintings were done in fabric paint, using a stencil brush. Links to this post. January 24, 2014. Today I went on a day of sketching in a group at the Melbourne Museum, an excellent place to sketch things, I might add. Especially animals. Because – well, they're dead, aren't they. Thanks to Luis, Josh and Romi for allowing me to photograph their sketches, and Youbi for organizing the whole thing.
