One should only be right half the time. Friday, July 4, 2014. Eins og 17 júni? Nevertheless, 17 juni here will of course never rival 17 juni in Iceland. But I've been enjoying touring around the Seattle area lately. It is nice to have a travel companion who enjoys car rides and going new places, and who helps pay things like ferry fees. There are a lot of Scandinavian Americans in Washington State, or Nordic Americans if one wants to be sure to be inclusive of Icelanders and Finns also. This is of course why I have my job at the Scandinavian Cultural Center at Pacific Lutheran University. There is nothing worse than letting hard work and good opportunities wither and die, especially since all it sometimes takes to change the world is just a few well-timed conversations.

Mike put them all into baskets after I sorted them. Our dryer isn't working, so suddenly we're looking at a massive trip to the laundrymat again. Which, in some ways, I miss.
