What's on Ellen's easel: June 2013
http://ellenseasel.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
What's on Ellen's easel. Updates after each painting session. Saturday, June 29, 2013. I think this has been a record for not continuing with a painting. Lots of things got in the way of my art. I taught two workshops out of town and the family went to Jamaica for my son's destination wedding. Now that things have settled down I can paint again. I am hoping the delay in taking off the masking won't turn into a disaster! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Back to Ellen's home page.

http://ellenseasel.blogspot.com/2015/05/colour-burst-step-5.html
What's on Ellen's easel. Updates after each painting session. Saturday, May 9, 2015. Colour Burst step 5. Another couple of hours today and I got a little more done. The stamens will look a lot brighter once I take the masking off. The petals vary in colour from the lightest of grey/pink to a deep magenta. Difficult to reproduce in paint. What's on Ellen's easel: November 2013
http://ellenseasel.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
What's on Ellen's easel. Updates after each painting session. Friday, November 15, 2013. For the Mrs. is finished. I finally finished this one. I could spend hours more fiddling with tiny details but it is as done as I am taking it. Tomorrow I'll frame it and then I'll be ready for the show it will be hung in next month. The face is less red in real life but it is a grey day and hard to get an accurate photo. Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Sunday, November 3, 2013. It was worth...

What's on Ellen's easel: Step 8
http://ellenseasel.blogspot.com/2015/05/step-8.html
What's on Ellen's easel. Updates after each painting session. Friday, May 15, 2015. Not a lot of obvious changes but I worked on the values all around the painting and did some more washes of colour. The lily pads still have a lot more work to do on them but the lily is getting closer to being done. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Back to Ellen's home page. Colour Burst step 7. What's on Ellen's easel: May 2015
http://ellenseasel.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
What's on Ellen's easel. Updates after each painting session. Saturday, May 16, 2015. I worked on the petals again but mostly on the lily pads to correct the colours. I am going to call this one finished. I could keep on fiddling with it forever but you have to choose a time to stop. I usually wax my paintings to finish them but this time I'm going to varnish it so the shine adds to the wet look of the water. Friday, May 15, 2015. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Colour Burst step 7. What's on Ellen's easel: Step 4
http://ellenseasel.blogspot.com/2015/05/step-4.html
What's on Ellen's easel. Updates after each painting session. Friday, May 8, 2015. Today I got some masking fluid on the stamens in the center of the waterlily. I was then able to add some of the darks in the center. It still has to get a lot darker there. I was able to add the first washes on some more of the petals as well. What's on Ellen's easel: Colour Burst step 7
http://ellenseasel.blogspot.com/2015/05/colour-burst-step-7.html
What's on Ellen's easel. Updates after each painting session. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Colour Burst step 7. Today I got at least one wash on everything that needs one. Colours still need to be intensified but the main problem is in the values. If those are right the whole painting will be right. I need to change the reference and this step into black and white and compare the values. I don't know why I chose a reference that was so hard to do. :-). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What's on Ellen's easel: Char's Jars
http://ellenseasel.blogspot.com/2015/06/chars-jars.html
What's on Ellen's easel. Updates after each painting session. Sunday, June 28, 2015. Last weekend I attended a meet of fellow watercolour artists who I met through the online artist's website wetcanvas.com. This was the 9th annual meeting and it was wonderful to see all our friends again. Each year one of us leads an all day workshop and we all paint from the same reference photo. This year Charlene McGill led us painting some of her old mason jars. Here is my interpretation. June 28, 2015 at 8:44 PM.

Sketch, Draw, Paint!: Taylor Finished?
http://annbucknerpaintings.blogspot.com/2014/10/taylor-finished.html
Sketch, Draw, Paint! The paintings of Oklahoma artist, Ann Buckner. Thursday, October 30, 2014. I'm going to let this rest for a couple of days and look at it with fresh eyes. I may do more to the shirt but I kind of like the texture. This painting was photographed outside in the shade around 10:15 am. Oklahoma artist Ann Buckner. Very, very nicely done, Ann. I love the texture on the shirt! She looks great, Ann x. Thank you Christianne and Pat. Appreciate your taking the time to look and comment. Dick B...
