The Great Light Bulb Conspiracy. I got to spend some time in Kentucky with my family last week, and my dad and I made our traditional trip to Lowe’s—just to walk around. He once again got me in a little panic about incandescent light bulbs, which are slowly but surely being phased out (in case you haven’t heard. Beginning in January, 100-watt incandescent bulbs will no longer be available. . . You can see his dismay when we found a final palette of bulbs and this sign at Lowe’s. Or, is it just my dad?

Cola, Depression, and Addiction. Over the weekend a little case study popped up on pubmed. Free full text paper, voila. A case study of cola dependency in a woman with recurrent depression. It's not the world's greatest paper. It's a simple case study, just an introduction that proves nothing. Is my blog useful? Now I certainly don't want to be part of an Island of Sodor bloggisphere, where every blog is "a really useful engine."
