Contented Motherhood: July 2014
http://abookandacupoftea.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Baby girl turns FIVE! Wow, Amelia girl, I cannot believe you are FIVE today! I never was one to dream of having a girl, in fact I was pretty sure you were another boy while you were in my belly. But I don't think I ever could have dreamed how amazing my little girl would be! I could go on and on, but I just want to say I just really love you! I'm so glad you were born into our family and that you're you! Happy birthday, special girl! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Seeking the Muse: January 2008
http://glassgirl-art.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
A couple posts ago, I posted a detail, and here's the finished piece. If you don't know what this is, it is called scratchboard. You work in the opposite then drawing with a pen. You scratch away the white. This particular board is made by ampersand,. And it's a black claybord. It's nice because it's not as flimsy as some of the other scratchboards I worked with in the past. I worked based off a photo using artistic license to add or delete as needed for composition. Have you ever tried this? Course, mis...

Seeking the Muse: June 2008
http://glassgirl-art.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
It seems that house hunting is cramping my art style. Here are a couple drawings I did yesterday. They were sketches to possibly be used for our church's next sermon series. Our pastor asked me to go in a different direction, so I'll have to do that today instead. You can check out the drawings in the meantime, and let me know what you think. On Saturday, June 21, 2008. Seeking the Muse: March 2008
http://glassgirl-art.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Okay, so I finished one more city drawing. It's got a bit of wonkiness to it, but that's part of what I like about it. It's also the one that is most "tight". Check it out and see what you think, and leave me a comment or criticism. On Sunday, March 30, 2008. I think I figured out something I like doing/drawing, that might make a good series. It's a city scene. Not like the previous bridge. But like what I worked on for our church's next sermon series. I actually made 2 dawings. What do you think? Anothe...

Notes from Nova Scotia: Three Years Ago
http://bouterhappenings.blogspot.com/2010/12/three-years-ago.html
Notes from Nova Scotia. Monday, December 27, 2010. Finally the plane was ready, I flew, Melissa picked me up and I poured out my anxious story since I just had to babble to somebody about this guy that I was so certain I was going to marry and yet barely knew at all. I fell asleep that night knowing that I was going to see him the next day and wondering what in the world we were going to say to each other. Now here we are, 3 years, two baby girls and a mortgage later.how did we get here? Actually we didn...

Notes from Nova Scotia: Evangeline: 8 Months
http://bouterhappenings.blogspot.com/2015/04/evangeline-8-months.html
Notes from Nova Scotia. Saturday, April 4, 2015. March 17, 2015. Will update after I weigh her. Wearing 6-12 months size and size 3 diapers. CRAWLING like a champ! Sitting, pulling up onto her knees and trying desperately to stand up while holding on to something. Into everything she can possibly reach! Half this month has been spent with multiple nighttime wake-ups and 2-3 naps per day. Sleeping through the night the past few days which is very, very nice! Memorable Things This Month. She entertains her...

Notes from Nova Scotia. Wednesday, November 26, 2014. There's so much I've neglected to share in the past.long while.partially because of time and energy constraints but also partly because I feel like the gap in communication is so wide already that I'll never be able to cover it all. Here are photos of some things from lately:. 2 sets of 3! Two of my mother-in-law's sisters visited from Holland this Fall. It was so nice to meet them. Thanks for all the great pictures Jaime! Contented Motherhood: Eight years.
http://abookandacupoftea.blogspot.com/2014/12/eight-years.html
Monday, December 22, 2014. To my Jacob boy. Wow you are eight, and Mommy cannot believe it! I have absolutely loved seeing your personality emerge over the last few years. You are most like your daddy; always a joke, a smile, and ready to make someone laugh. Your cheery attitude and peaceful soul are so needed in this family and I'm so glad you're you! Happiest of birthdays, big boy! We love you so much! Jacob at about eight months. Always the smiley one. Still smiling at almost eight years old.

Notes from Nova Scotia: Children Grow Up, As I've Learned to my Sorrow
http://bouterhappenings.blogspot.com/2015/05/children-grow-up-as-ive-learned-to-my.html
Notes from Nova Scotia. Sunday, May 3, 2015. Children Grow Up, As I've Learned to my Sorrow. You may have heard this poem before, but I found it worth sharing or re-sharing:. Song for a Fifth Child. By Ruth Hulburt Hamilton. Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth,. Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,. Hang out the washing and butter the bread,. Sew on a button and make up a bed. Where is the mother whose house is so shocking? She’s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking. May 7, 2015 at 8:15 PM.
