Yet another Workout Log. Thursday, September 17, 2009. Getting back into things. I decided in the spring that I wanted to run the Chicago Marathon. I signed up in March. Things were going well, until I started traveling every week for my job. I was simply exhausted all the time, grouchy and depressed. even when I cut out social time and booze and every distraction from sleep I could think of, I always hit a plateau at 20mi/week. And now, I'm ready to get back into things. Monday: Rest day (traveling).

Yet another Workout Log. Tuesday, July 22, 2008. 21 July - 27 July (TX). Took a train to my parents' place. Lazed around and played a lot of tetris. In the evening I rode around for about 30 min on my dad's bike, mostly just to figure out what I needed to adjust (move the seat forward), get used to the bike, get somewhat familiar with the area, etc. 22 mi ride in the morning. Yet another Workout Log. Tuesday, April 15, 2008. April 14 - 20. A brief swimming session, followed by weights (endurance). We've moved up to 30 reps now. While swimming was short, I think Charlie got something out of it. He's been having trouble breathing, and I didn't know what to tell him, so I asked the swim coach to help him out. Obviously he's referring to stuff with too much sugar and fat, but whatever. Reason for believing his advice: He's 93, looks great. Glass of milk: 140.

Here's what I remember, though I'll have to update it later. 25 (on each side). Standing cable cross over. 30 (on fly machine instead). Step up / curl. I can't believe I remembered to stop my watch. Should've run faster. Jul 10, 2009. Well, it's been a while since I updated, yeah? The movie got made - which was ridiculously grueling. Caltech prepared me well, actually. I did my best to sabotage it, doing many stupid things along the way, but hopefully I was net helpful. Now that would have been a big surprise getting to the airport and realizing that. I just ran into Sarah on campus the other day and got the Thailand story. Sounds great - have fun!

Über Marathons, Ultramarathons und Rennrad fahren. Dienstag, 29. Oktober 2013. Und schon wieder im Dunkeln laufen. Jetzt ist es schon wieder so weit. Nach der Zeitumstellung verlasse ich in der Dämmerung das Büro und nach wenigen Kilometern ist es bereits so dunkel, dass ich entweder mit Stirnlampe laufen müsste, oder michauf durchgehend beleuchtet Strecken beschränken muss. Und bis zum Phoenixsee - ebenfalls komplett beleuchtete Laufstrecke - ist es auch nicht weit. Nun ja, Hauptsache raus und laufen.
