Tests usually involve exposing the test organisms to the test material for a defined period of time. Tests are typically undertaken on a range of 5 concentrations, with the highest concentration tested being up to 100mg/L for aquatic ecotoxicology and 1000mg/kg for terrestrial ecotoxicology. Statistical analysis are then typically applied to the test data to determine the concentration of the test material causing 10% and 50% mortalities in the test population (LC10 and LC50 estimate).
