ESTERO ISLAND HISTORIC SOCIETY. Christmas Open House and Bake Sale. The Estero Island Historic Society Museum and Nature Center is located in the Davison Cottage (seen above), built in 1921 on the beachfront, and now located at 161 Bay Rd., Fort Myers Beach. Come visit us on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 until noon. The Cottage Museum sits at the trailhead to Matanzas Pass Preserve, the last maritime tropical hammock on Estero Island. The Preserve is open dawn to dusk and is ADA compatible.

ESTERO ISLAND HISTORIC SOCIETY. Christmas Open House and Bake Sale. ARTISANAL SEA GRAPE JELLY. Each fall, members of the EIHS gather seagrapes from around the island. Jo Hughes has been making seagrape jelly since she was a girl growing up on the Island. She still uses her mother's pan to cook the fruit into juice, and then thicken it with sugar. No other ingredients are used. PHOTOS PROPERTY OF EIHS. The EIHS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Fort Myers Beach Real Estate News. Lion’s Shrimp Festival, Shrimp Rolls, and Blessing of the Fleet. St Raphael’s Church will once again be selling their famous shrimp rolls today. From 9-1 in the Parish Hall located at 5601 Williams Drive on Fort Myers Beach. This is a long standing tradition for the parish.
