I saw a post on Facebook the other day that asked. 8216;What would you do if you know you couldn’t fail’ and instantly I started thinking- start my own business, finish all those books I’ve been writing, run an ironman triathlon. The statement made me think about how fear of failure might be holding me back, how it holds most of us back. But then I thought, if I knew I couldn’t fail, would I relish the victory quite so much? Friday, December 23, 2011. Triathlon training should be periodised across a year, with a foundation, preparation and competition phase. I, however, have chosen to start my training right in the middle of the season. So, I'm concentrating on technique and strength and hoping that these (rather than fitness training) will help me improve my times. So, what does a week's triathlon training look like. Monday- Easy swimming technique practice followed by "Brick" session (extended spin class and treadmill run).

So I'm not yet ready to admit that I have reached my middle age, even though if you double my current age you get an age that would have satisfied even the Queen Mother. But I have noticed that as I get . ahem . older my attitude towards exercise has changed. I'll admit that I exercised through my 20s 30s and half of my 40s for looks. Not only was it the final weigh in day for Round 1 of the 12WBT but I didn't have a great week with my nutrition or exercise.
