Mama Sara Says: June 2013
http://www.mamasarasays.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 14, 2013. Long time, no blog… I must admit, I have honestly thought about deleting this little sorry attempt at blogging, but haven’t. I started out so good this year, and then crunch time came and blogging went by the wayside. But, summer is here, so more time will be available! Let’s see… what has happened in the last 3 months? 1 My proposal defense was approved! My IRB was approved! What does that mean? Actually, Nate has been on the Mac more than I have been on it! That is all for now...

Monday, February 25, 2013. Sunday was spent putting together our new bed. The last bed that I purchased came in 4 pieces and it was put together super fast! This bed, no… It took about 2 hours! Nate doesn't understand how the bed itself can affect your comfort. Oh it does! I slept like a princess last night! This is a photo from the internet of the bed. I forgot to take a picture of the end product). We have started the renovation of the sun room! The closet doors and the door to the actual room came off!

Mama Sara Says: It Has Begun!!!
http://www.mamasarasays.com/2015/08/it-has-begun.html
Saturday, August 8, 2015. As of this past Wednesday, half marathon training has begun! Crazy business. I know! This past week was exhausting to say the least, but I still managed to get every workout in, arrive at school before 6:30, finish all of the back-to-school monogram and embroidery orders, and be a mommy and wife. Like I said, exhausting. Because you don't read my blog to hear how exhausting the 4-letter word called L-I-F-E is, let me get back to the half marathon talk! I was sold on the course, ...

Zen Handups: April 2014
http://vince-anila.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Zen Bikes. Life. Saturday, April 26, 2014. Kept saying "she attained moksha. None of us is separate here in the utter mystery of this new absence. I watch my wife each time the priest says "you can pray to your mom. If you close your eyes and picture her, do namaskaram. All these people keep saying, "she is free now." And I know there is truth here, and somewhere some relief. I cannot yet feel it, though, even though I hope my athamma. For the duration of your call; of snail mail that may or may not ever...

Zen Handups: May 2015
http://vince-anila.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Zen Bikes. Life. Monday, May 25, 2015. 50K, Day by Day. But often, as soon as I know I can for sure do something, I lose interest - at least a little. So this September thing has me entranced, to say the least. Last year in Zion. For all my long runs here on out, and for the 50K as well, my job is just to cover the distance. I don't care how fast or who I beat. And I really can't explain how nice I find it to run this way. How I have to feel after every long run from now until September? The first half o...

Zen Bikes. Life. Friday, April 24, 2015. Zen Koans and OODA Loops. Trauma experts speak of something called the OODA loop to describe the process of decision-making. First, we Observe a situation: What is this? We then Orient ourselves to it: What is my relationship to it? In the interview room at Still Point Zen Buddhist Temple in Detroit, I sometimes ask people “What color is this? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Handups" . . . Still Point Zen. Detroit. My Journey to Fit: A Fifty-Something's Weight Loss Journey: We Had a Ball!
http://www.myjourneytofit.com/2015/08/we-had-ball.html
Monday, August 10, 2015. We Had a Ball! Me and Kaboom, the Bombers mascot. It was Aggie night, so they were handing out 12th Man towels, which are traditionally waved at Aggie football games. Games in the nine years that the team has been here. We bought tickets as a fundraiser, and through connections, were invited to crash the Brazos Bingo's Party on the Patio at the ballpark, which was pretty sweet - free food and drink! Fun with food, part I: Julia and her sausage-on-a-stick mustache. Once the game s...
