Tradition, culture, ancestors. Finding our way home. Children of the Tradewater: The Descendants of Jacob Sigler and Margaret Holeman. Map of the Tradewater Basin. April 5, 2014. Soon, I will get around to mapping out my genealogy, but for now, let’s just suffice to say, I have some Welsh. Good bit actually, and some royal Welsh lines, going back to something like 1100 AD! If you break it down, it’s “Llan-fair pwllgwyngyll gogerych wyrndrobwll llan-tysilio gogogoch”. Need some help with that? Fill in you...

Tradition, culture, ancestors. Finding our way home. Children of the Tradewater: The Descendants of Jacob Sigler and Margaret Holeman. Map of the Tradewater Basin. Up the Crabtree Tree. June 6, 2015. I thought I’d work on this line a bit-especially people I have photos of. Shows that the W. Yorkshire DNA is distinctively different from the Southern and Eastern British Isle DNA…As are the Welsh, Cornwall and Devon areas (which is my Whitecotton family-a post for another time)…. Family stories have it that...

Finding Grace Within
Oh, you're so lucky to bring Jesus in to those poor people." I am lucky but I don't haul Jesus around in a suitcase. I get to see what God has been up to in the last few hours. You said about the voices. That took up room in your brain. If I was going to hell,. I was going to take everyone with me.". And the ...

Finding Granddad's War
My maternal grandfather, Leo Kavanaugh, died in 1970 a few months after I was born. I never got to meet him. While I was growing up my mother told me wonderful stories of her father and he became something of a hero to me. I always knew that my grandfather served in WWII, but didn't have any details. I then went to France, Holland and Germany and tracked down the people and places connected with my grandfather’s unit. I give instructions on tracking down your own family member’s war story.

Since then my work with genealogy and genetic genealogy has blossomed and grown in several directions. Although it’s going to take a lot longer than I...
