I am pleased with this picture, I like the way the curve of the path, and the dogs tail adds a bit of contrast to the lines. Without the dog in the picture, this would be just another picture of scenery. Putting my dog in the picture gives me a sense of time and place. I can see that this may not work for some viewers, it is not a clear portrait of the dog. I want my photography to be more about impression, and emotion then to be a true representation. The curves of the trees in the background, together with the bokeh, and the curve of my fingers emphasise the gentle curve of the bluebell. I like the abstract nature of this picture. Open College of the Arts. The Art of Photography…Assignments. OCA Inspiration (old blog). I have chosen a picture of my two dogs playing as an example of two points. I like the outlines of their bodies and particularly their tails. I am not overly keen on the edit here, but I used it to bring out the silhouette, without which the picture did not feel as strong. The two points for me are the two tails. The silhouettes against the plain sky emphasise this. And tagged Assignment 2. May 20, 2013.

Open College of the Arts. The Art of Photography…Assignments. OCA Inspiration (old blog). Several points in a deliberate shape…. I put this still life together, whilst out walking in the woods. I think the shapes work well with each other, and I like the lines and texture in the wood. The bluebell makes a good diagonal, around which I placed the other items. I placed a vignette around the picture, to help create the curved shape of the wood, and to draw your eye in. And tagged Assignment 2. May 20, 2013.
