The Atchison Adoption Story: Thankful for a Shower!
http://atchisonadoption.blogspot.com/2011/12/thankful-for-shower.html
Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Thankful for a Shower! Ok, that's a really weird title, I know. My hope was to combine two monumental events that took place over the past few weeks: a baby shower and Kaylin's first Thanksgiving. We spent Kaylin's first Thanksgiving as one big family with our parents and siblings.and our dog Bailey of course. Unfortunately, Kaylin was not able to take part in the eating of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and various desserts, but she was. Posted by Alan Atchison. Received...

The Atchison Adoption Story: Happy Baby!
http://atchisonadoption.blogspot.com/2012/01/happy-baby.html
Thursday, January 26, 2012. Well, Kaylin is now approaching 4 months old and time is really starting to fly by. She's now a good 13 lbs. and is routinely sleeping through the night. Most times, we have to wake her up in the morning. Yes, I'm bragging. It's unbelievable just how relational this girl is. She'll make eye contact with you when you enter the room and smiles and giggles non stop! Posted by Alan Atchison. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). May 1, 2009. May 27, 2009. February 9, 2010. The Atchison Adoption Story: Precious Little Kaylin
http://atchisonadoption.blogspot.com/2012/03/precious-little-kaylin.html
Saturday, March 3, 2012. Below is a beautiful poem written by Kaylin's birth grandmother. Precious little Kaylin, a gift from God above. An angel sent from heaven, uniting families in their love. Our Father of the universe, ordained you long ago. He gave you exceptional parents, to guide you as you grow. Your daddy shows a wealth of strength and a boldness of his own. Your mommy shines with love and care - characteristics that are grown. You have a special birth mom, who loves you with her life. Held a "...

The Atchison Adoption Story: Mommy's 30th!
http://atchisonadoption.blogspot.com/2012/04/mommys-30.html
Monday, April 23, 2012. Mommy has finally joined Daddy in the glorious decade of the 30s! This past Saturday, we had a bunch of friends over and threw a surprise 30th birthday party for Tara. The most exciting part was getting to share in the moment with Kaylin's birth family, and being able to introduce Kaylin's birthmother to a bunch of our close friends. After a few weeks of planning, this was the culmination. Posted by Alan Atchison. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). May 1, 2009. May 27, 2009.

The Atchison Adoption Story: June 2010
http://atchisonadoption.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 21, 2010. This past Saturday, we hosted the Atchison Adoption Benefit Concert, at 2424 Studios. We'd been planning this event for the better part of a year, but due to logistics and scheduling conflicts, it had to be pushed back several times. The event allowed us to raise over $400 dollars, which was awesome, and also allowed me to finally showcase a bunch of songs I'd written, and just have a good time playing music on stage with some very talented friends. In getting this show ready, I wo...

The Atchison Adoption Story: Kaylin Beth's Baptism!
http://atchisonadoption.blogspot.com/2012/03/kaylin-beths-baptism.html
Tuesday, March 6, 2012. On February 26th, our beautiful little girl was baptized at our church. Thankfully, she didn't cry or fuss during what is normally her nap time. We were privileged to be able to share in the moment with not only our parents and siblings, but also Kaylin's birth family. The video below was filmed by Kaylin's birth uncle. (Thanks TJ! What kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called c. Hildren of God; and so we are.". Posted by Alan Atchison. May 1, 2009. Contin...

The Atchison Adoption Story: October 2010
http://atchisonadoption.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 13, 2010. Taking the Bitter with the Sweet. As most of you know, we are currently in the waiting phase of the adoption process, which officially began in April. All the paperwork has long since been submitted, as have all the pre-placement funds. In adoption lingo, we are what is known as "paper pregnant.". Though it's much more likely that the other dad and I will just catch a Phillies game instead). I am fervently praying for you both! With all my heart, I can honestly say that this ...

The Atchison Adoption Story: August 2010
http://atchisonadoption.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 13, 2010. With a Little Help From Our Friends. During our home study meetings, we were presented with the option of meeting with another couple also adopting through Bethany Christian Services for the purpose of friendship and support. As you can imagine, Alan and I jumped at this opportunity to connect with another couple in this way! Meet new friends who are forming their family through adoption as well, you say?
