Friday, August 12, 2011. Pickled Hot Dogs and Banana Peppers. This recipe will yield 4 Pints jars, but can be adapted. To yield other quantities. 2 Cups White Vinegar. 1 1/2 Tbsp Pickling Spice. 4 Cloves of Garlic / 1 per Jar (Optional). 16 Regular Length Hot Dogs. There are a few steps when making these:. Cold Packing the Jars:. Making the pickling brine:. Combine the White Vinegar, Water, Alum, Pickling Spice and Sugar into a medium to large sauce pan and bring to a boil allowing the sugar to dissolve.

Sep 19, 2014. Where oh where have you been? I must apologize for my long absence and my neglect of my blog. Work and outside commitments has been flat out crazy this spring and summer and still crazy going into the fall but I will do my best to get back to some sort of regular posting here. The next three weeks will be plenty busy at work as I try to get ahead of the game before I leave for a week of waterfowl hunting in Saskatchewan. I hope everyone enjoyed their summer and found time to get outdoors!
