Tales from The Telco Edge. Adventures in Rural America. Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Best Pizza in the World! I know I'll get a lot of argument on this point but here goes. You may be familiar with Frank Pepe's, Tony and Lucile's, Sally's, or any one of dozens of places people will wait for hours in the snow to get a table for. My all-time fav is easily Modern Apizza on State Street. Opened in 1934 (a comparatively young oven) Modern makes the kind of pizza that I often dream about (seriously). Given the ...

Tales from The Telco Edge. Adventures in Rural America. Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Training vs.being trained. This week I'm attending a training class. Nothing unusual about this, but as a trainer myself, it got me thinking about the difference the two roles experience. Looking at the students from the front of the room, I can see the expressions on their faces and try to derive clues from this. Are they bored? Do they find the curriculum interesting, funny, annoying, etc? Sunday, November 7, 2010.

Sudden Song Delights: July 2013
http://suddensongdelights.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 28, 2013. Today, I was in a bad mood all day and was quite a wreck. Also looked really worried and miserable at church and alot of people noticed. The nice thing about this church is that people notice. Children are like this too. They impart wisdom that young people forget. They see things in different ways, sometimes sweet, sometimes funny, sometimes surprising. We mustn't always just stick with our own age group, or say that the age gap is just too large. Love is when Mommy sees Daddy sme...

Sudden Song Delights: Steps
http://suddensongdelights.blogspot.com/2013/05/steps.html
Saturday, May 11, 2013. The only 'love stories' I care to read has been the Anne series by LM Montgomery. For some reason, those love stories i can take. Other love stories bore me. My 'third crush' was some guy at church. This was the first serious one I think. I mean, it was pre-u and people start becoming more serious at that time. Kinda. More. But God didn't let anything happen.and I went to Singapore. I thank God that He has allowed this part of my life to be handled in such a manner, filled with pr...

Tales from The Telco Edge. Adventures in Rural America. Monday, February 27, 2012. Anchor weighs down African Internet. Its easy to forget how different things are in different parts of the world. Take Africa, for instance: A ship off the coast of Mombasa, didn't pull up their anchor properly. One of three (THREE! I would assume a network outage of this magnitude in Europe or the US would see an overall slowdown of perhaps several minutes if cable based, milliseconds if land based. Ouch. Recent reviews b...
