West Fork Oak Creek, Sedona AZ. 400ft (from 5,320 to 5,660ft). Out of Bounds: Occasionally we venture beyond NorCal and we usually take our hiking boots with us. Normal service will resume very soon! Trekking up Oak Creek’s west fork offers one of the best hiking experiences in Sedona, an area already known as a hiker’s paradise. The steep canyon walls and the shade of trees make this a perfect trail if you’re looking to avoid the heat of the Arizona sun. If you’re suitably equipped, you can contin...

This Makes No Sense At All: Of mammals, mostly, travels and a snake glimpse
http://timecheck00.blogspot.com/2014/09/of-mammals-mostly-travels-and-snake.html
This Makes No Sense At All. A mostly hiking blog, though sometimes the connection is nebulous. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Of mammals, mostly, travels and a snake glimpse. More tales from grounded hikers. Susan can walk a few blocks but our normal long distance treks are temporarily on hold. So. our meantime activities. Contained by the wire. I was tempted to touch the fence but resisted. The day went on with turkeys, cows and a water snake. Yesterday's was too fast to snap, but similar. Converting our ...

This Makes No Sense At All. A mostly hiking blog, though sometimes the connection is nebulous. Friday, July 17, 2009. As long as I'm on a cooking roll, let me pass on this recipe from an old roommate, from whom I learned a fair amount of cooking. One of his more important rules, at least for the single guy trying to make an impression: "If you cook with booze, you can't lose". 1 pint sour cream. 8 ounces sliced mushrooms. 1 can mushroom soup - the original full sodium variety. About 1/2 stick of butter.

This Makes No Sense At All: Sibley labyrinth, frog sounds, newts
http://timecheck00.blogspot.com/2008/01/sibley-labyrinth-frog-sounds-newts.html
This Makes No Sense At All. A mostly hiking blog, though sometimes the connection is nebulous. Tuesday, January 29, 2008. Sibley labyrinth, frog sounds, newts. Of course I didn't have my camera or any way to record it, so I came back every morning for four days. Each day was windy and beautiful, but zero frog sounds. Finally I came back one rainy morning and got the sounds again, along with some clips of newts doing their newt business. I put it all on this video. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
