InstaTrike light upgrade

When John got his InstaTrike it had a cheap set of incandescent lights. On it and they weren't even hooked up. He decided it needed some lights on it and on our Ohio trip. He picked up some LED lights at a Pilot truck stop. He got LED lights to replace the ones that were on it, four LED marker lights, and yellow LED lights to use for turn signals. His bike has a ton of brake lights but just the two stock turn signals, so we felt they needed enhanced.

After the Memorial Day crash. John started pondering the idea of a trike. Full blown trike kits run anywhere from $8000 and up. Several companies make 'add on' trike kits. Trigg Trikes. John wanted to try a trike to see how he liked it before dropping a wad on a full blown kit. He weighed the virtues of each of the add-on kits and decided he liked the InstaTrike kit the best. A side project of the trike kit installation. Was the installation of driving lights. As good as the Goldwing lights are you can't have too much light, espeically when you're on the lookout for deer. We ordered this Add-On lightbar. We're gonna use the Hella FF50. Lights I used to have on my Goldwing. They'll look good on John's bike with its black highlights. The installation of the lightbar itself was super simple, and uses existing mounting bolt locations.
Trunk pocket door fix

Trunk pocket door fix. When John bought his GL1500 it was missing a trunk pocket door and while riding the other jettisoned itself. Apparently this is common on the GL1500s. There have been several ways people have come up with to fix them. We came up with this solution using zip ties.

After using their InstaTrike. For several months John and Debby decided to go to a full trike kit. John decided early on to get a kit we could install ourselves. This narrowed the choices to Roadsmith. And a few others. At first he was leaning towards Roadsmith with its independent suspension, optional auxiliary fuel tank, stretched wheelbase, and included options. I've had my GL1800.
