Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Poplar Hill Pumpkin Patch. If you can avoid running off a very narrow road, a household off Poplar Hill Road in Baltimore decorate their hillside with their home-grown pumpkins, meticulously carved and glowing nightly for a few evenings before Halloween. I enjoyed looking for the photos, but there are so many! Posted by Mrs. M. Monday, October 27, 2008. My slideshow is obviously black cats. My first graders sing a song entitled "Big Black Cats" so I thought they would enjoy it.

First Thing's First: Wikis in the elementary classroom
http://melissaandolina.blogspot.com/2010/07/wikis-in-elementary-classroom.html
Sunday, July 11, 2010. Wikis in the elementary classroom. The biggest struggle so far in researching wikis is getting access to those that seem to be perfect. I have found several wikis, but cannot log in because they are only available to those in the class. After spending some time, wikis can be found on all topics and for all ages. It helps to have in mind the topic and age group, before beginning to search. I was able to find some that made me think wikis are a realistic and accessable! I have had my...

Sunday, March 22, 2009. I am loving my Google Reader. It's such a great way to keep up with what's going on. I recently was reading a Techlearning. That students can put together on line. From my Quote of the Day site, I thought I'd share what Vince Lombardi had to say "If you aren't fired with enthusiasm, you'll be fired with enthusiasm." Harry S. Truman said "It's amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.". From BlueSkunk, it provided some food for thought. Using the pictu...

Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Tuesday, November 18, 2008. Okay, this is one of the activities that I enjoyed the most. It was user friendly and I loved adding images to it. It did take me a while but I was not stressed like i have been in other activities. This was fun! Here is my wiki http:/ barnswiki.wikispaces.com/Lovin%27 Life. I would like to start a wiki about a book that a student needs to read first and then have conversation about what happened in the book. This was completed by third grade stud...

Friday, October 24, 2008. I, personally, have no experience with using the computer for anything other than email and to search for sites of interest. I tend to acquire the extra things I use in my classroom from non-computer sites. I have downloaded things from a few sites, but nothing really major. Thing #9 - The Wiki, part 2. Leave it to me to discover something after the fact! Anyway, if my wiki, which is made doesn't show up soon. I really don't know what I did wrong. Any advice out there? Wiki's ar...
