Mister Stitcher: Pressing Concerns
http://misterstitcher.blogspot.com/2008/11/pressing-concerns.html
Wednesday, November 26, 2008. I got all my dyes together because I got antsy with the need to make color. I did not have any soda ash on hand and went to the grocery store to get some washing soda. Arm and Hammer still makes this stuff, unfortunately the grocer doesn't stock it anymore. I went exploring under the kitchen sink and discovered that my dishwasher powder is sodium carbonate.BINGO! Thursday, November 27, 2008. So the stuff I dyed last night did not turn out very dark. Maybe my dyes are old or the sodium carbonate in the dishwasher powder was weak. Whatever the reason, I got pale results. They will be nice for something I am sure. I'll get to the supermarket or pool supply for some proper soda ash to find out. Hi Jim. Glad to see you are blogging! I look forward to seeing pictures of your beautiful dyed fabrics. November 28, 2008 at 5:05 AM. November 28, 2008 at 7:40 AM.

Were off on adventures of their own this month. This month Pam was in charge of the munchie/finger foods. For lunch Deb made a fantastic taco salad and Debbie put together a fresh fruit salad. No lunch pictures to share though - apparently we were much to ravenous to stop for photos. I shared The Pioneer Woman's apple dumplings. Whatever it's calle...

California Quilter: June 2009

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Father's Day found us out for a ride through the golden hills . . . Past some crops . . . To the orchards of Brentwood. I'm sure he could think of numerous other ways to spend Father's Day morning, but hey, it's HIS favorite! 2 five gallon buckets (or 52 pounds) of apricots later it looks like I have some work to do. Cherries and strawberries also found their way into the car. So much for having Monday and Tuesday off. This is granddaughter Audrey with her first pie! A quick trip ...
