Aynalikavak Pavilion
http://aynalikavakpavilion.blogspot.com/2007/01/aynalkavak-pavilion-is-sole-remaining.html
Monday, January 22, 2007. Aynalıkavak Pavilion is the sole remaining building from a large Ottoman palace known as Aynalıkavak Palace or Tersane palace, dating back to the 17th century. This pretty building on the shore or the Golden Horn is a reminder that this now built-up area was for centuries a place parks, meadows and streams where the Ottoman sultans and before them the Byzantines came for country excursions. Monday, January 22, 2007. This palace is an absolute jewel for all the senses. It is a valuable asset for understanding the opulent life of the Ottoman royal family in previous centuries. I am very glad it has been restored and is now a museum. I look forward to visiting it when next I come to Istanbul. November 22, 2010 at 3:21 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
