The Bard's Bend: September 2011
http://eberhardkatie232.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 30, 2011. ReadySet.Compare and Contrast! So I mentioned earlier in one of my posts. That I am reading one of my favorite books again, which happens to be a retelling of Hamlet. So now that we are finished reading Hamlet and I am reaching climatic parts in my journey, that I start doing a comparison. (I'm actually quite excited about it, and don't worry it'll only be a few posts.). Edgar is a mute! The King/Hamlet Senior = Gar. Gar's brother. They have a rocky past but neither of the...

The Bard's Bend: That's a Wrap!
http://eberhardkatie232.blogspot.com/2011/12/and-cut.html
Tuesday, December 6, 2011. We definitely got much more comfortable and in character as we recorded more and so I'm pretty excited about the final product! We just need to piece all of the recording snippets together and Amy has been kind enough to volunteer to do that using Garage Band. So that should be ready by Thursday! Or like was suggested in class we can use parts as some of the trivia questions. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Pro Readers and Recorders.

The Bard's Bend: Exeunt 232
http://eberhardkatie232.blogspot.com/2011/12/exeunt-232.html
Saturday, December 10, 2011. Shakespeare, you have been engaged! When I woke up yesterday morning, I must admit I was a little stressed out. Amy hadn't made it to class and I hadn't received the recordings of the book to send on to J.J. and Austin. BUT when I got on my computer lo and behold, there was an email with the recordings! So I quickly downloaded them and then proceeded to piece them together using Windows Movie Maker. While that was saving I went online and looked at LibriVox. I was super impre...

The Bard's Bend: I Dreamed......
http://eberhardkatie232.blogspot.com/2011/09/i-dreamed.html
Friday, September 16, 2011. Your actions are my dreams/You had a bastard by Polexines. He let his dream toy with him, just as sometimes ours toy with us. The real challenge then seems to be to try to find a dream that we can catch hold of and toy with, but not let it determine our lives. September 15, 2011 at 10:59 PM. The Bard's Bend: Ghostly Manifestations
http://eberhardkatie232.blogspot.com/2011/10/ghostly-manifestations.html
Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Earlier on my blog I discussed. The nature of the dead king's ghost. I would like to return to that, but compare it to the portrayal of the ghost in The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. As a quick recap the ghost in Hamlet first appears to the night guard of the castle. Since other people see him we assume the ghost is real (but also begin to question that later). We are told that the ghost is " In the same figure like the King that's dead. However in The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. I just...

The Bard's Bend: You Lost Me William...
http://eberhardkatie232.blogspot.com/2011/11/you-lost-me-william.html
Tuesday, November 29, 2011. You Lost Me William. Yes, I met my match in Shakespearean nature lingo with this line of Lear's:. She's dead as earth.". This is of course speaking of his faithful daughter but the simile just doesn't make sense to me. Because, well, earth or (as I'm taking it for this post) soil/dirt is really quite alive in many ways! Confused by my logic? Soil contains bacteria, microorganisms, nutrients, small animals and seeds (hello, life! Plants such as the aspen tree actually depend on...

The Bard's Bend: Gertrude Reading
http://eberhardkatie232.blogspot.com/2011/11/gertrude-reading.html
Thursday, November 24, 2011. Just a quick update. I read over the script and so I now I know my lines, well I've read them. I'm really hoping to go over it again and just get more comfortable with them. I just want to get to know Gertrude more if you know what I mean. Overall I think we did really well with our script cut. I think we managed our goal of keeping the plot true while having key components. I've also just realized how little time in school/class we actually have left! View my complete profile.
