The Norstein Review: Avatar
http://thenorsteinreview.blogspot.com/2010/01/avatar_11.html
Monday, January 11, 2010. If you have not seen Avatar yet, go see it now. It is a visual spectacle and a mind blowing adventure that leaves your eyes and your brain begging for more. Well, there are a couple critics who would disagree. Owen Gleiberman wrote an article for Entertainment Weekly saying that the story and characters were flat and had no dimensions to them. He also added that as far as visual effects go, it was amazing, but as for story, it fizzled out as you watched it. Posted by K Norstein.

The Norstein Review: Is Avatar Racist?
http://thenorsteinreview.blogspot.com/2010/01/more-on-avatar.html
Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Sure enough, more "problems" have surfaced about the film Avatar. It never fails. Just as I've learned over the years, nine out of ten times, all you have to do is wait, and race will somehow squeeze its way into the situation. The ignorance which surrounds these newly risen issues absolutely astounds me. Apparently there is a group of people who claim that Avatar contains racist themes. Well, again, I say, so what? Or all the other films about slavery or Africa that depict nat...

The Norstein Review: New York Times Blog Boo Boo
http://thenorsteinreview.blogspot.com/2010/01/on-january-13-michael-c.html
Sunday, January 31, 2010. New York Times Blog Boo Boo. A week later, he attended the awards show and won. During the awards ceremony, it was obvious that he was wearing a knitted skull cap. Cancer treatments often cause loss of hair, and many patients cover it up with hats. I don't get the hat or what he is hiding under it.". Without knowing of Hall’s cancer, this writer was quick to make fun of Hall and the hat. There was about a week between the time when the announcement was made about Hall’s ba...

The Norstein Review: Nothing Wrong With Roland
http://thenorsteinreview.blogspot.com/2010/01/nothing-wrong-with-roland.html
Thursday, January 7, 2010. Nothing Wrong With Roland. This critic found fault with Emmerich because of the similarities in his movies. Well, if that is the basis for his judgement, than he must not like a lot of directors out there. Right? Based on his reason for bad talking Roland Emmerich, this writer must not like any director who makes similar movies. Unless he wants to be a complete and utter hypocrite, he should feel that way about Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, and who knows how many others.

The Norstein Review: The Ending of Lost
http://thenorsteinreview.blogspot.com/2010/05/ending-of-lost.html
Tuesday, May 25, 2010. The Ending of Lost. I consider myself an intelligent person. And in relevance to this statement, I consider myself an intelligent television show viewer, or movie watcher. So, here is a breakdown as to why this ending does not work. Hopefully after reading this, you'll understand what I mean. It just didn't make sense. If this is supposed to be purgatory, after they all die, then why were some characters, who were left alive at the end, in purgatory? And in order to do so one must ...

The Norstein Review: January 2012
http://thenorsteinreview.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 20, 2012. Ok, so I haven't posted anything in quite some time. I've been on a bit of a hiatus from this blog. I don't know why. It doesn't really matter anyway, no one reads this. But I'll be back soon. Posted by K Norstein. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My Thoughts on Movies. And you know what? If it's done well, and if it is entertaining, I can enjoy it and appreciate it, no matter the genre. I love all kinds of films and I love all kinds of filmmakers. Jealousy. Pure and simple. ...Trans...
