Caitlyn Crites Illustration: Some kids
http://caitlyncrites.blogspot.com/2011/06/some-kids.html
Tuesday, June 21, 2011. I recently got an internship at Carus Publishing in Chicago! I start officially in a few days) As I was applying for the position and conversing with the art director, he asked me if I ever drew anything for younger audiences. After looking over my portfolio, panicking, and spending a night drawing these kids, I was able to tell him yes (or at least that I was capable of drawing a person younger than 15, kind of.). Caitlyn Crites Illustration: December 2010
http://caitlyncrites.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 15, 2010. Some doodles I did a while back for a project. Tuesday, December 14, 2010. This is still sort of work in progress, but hey. I could always use feedback and I have a month long break coming up to make it look better/get better at making things look cohesive in Photosop. It's supposed to be an accident waiting to happen - I chose 4Loko and the internet, aka the mother of all bad combinations. Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Caitlyn Crites Illustration: October 2011
http://caitlyncrites.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 2, 2011. Long time no see. Well I started a Tumblr. For works-in-progress and that's been getting a lot more love recently (also because this blog is on an old e-mail account that's being overtaken by Facebook notifications) Anyway, now that the excuses are out of the way, this is a little self-portrait I did for professional development, intended for use on a bio page. If I was a Saturday morning cartoon it would be decently. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Caitlyn Crites Illustration: January 2011
http://caitlyncrites.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 26, 2011. This was a christmas present for a friend who's a big fan of both cats and sweaters. : ) It was my first time using gouache so I'm still sort of figuring it out, but it's fun and I'll probably work with it more throughout the semester. Caitlyn Crites Illustration: July 2010
http://caitlyncrites.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 24, 2010. So I'm just getting around to coloring this (that explains the lack of values/colors, as of now). I was busy with ICON6! It was the highlight of my summer and I'm already looking forward to the next one. Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Ok My updates don't happen, ever. Here's a work in progress I'm trying to knock out by ICON. It's a poster/portrait of The Tallest Man on Earth, who you should really listen to if you haven't yet. Feedback appreciated, please and thanks!

http://caitlyncrites.blogspot.com/2011/06/vend-send-mend.html
Friday, June 24, 2011. Here's my piece for Vend, Send, Mend. All proceeds from the show go to Doctors Without Borders and the Japan relief effort. The colors on Blogger might be a little bright; the blacks are a little darker in person. It's ink, marker, and gouache (I think you can do washes with gouache, right? And I'll do a digital version at some point, too. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm a junior illustration major at MICA! View my complete profile. Simple template. Powered by Blogger.
