Life begins at 40. Let's make the most of it. Life is for living! I’m amazed to see it’s been a few weeks since I last posted. What a lot has happened in between! Christmas, New Year, work, work, more work… and, I’m happy to say, a fair bit of play. As we moved into 2012, I renewed the resolution I made when I turned 40 last October, to LIVE more! So here’s to a fulfilling 2012 for all of us! For me and Julian, it has got off to a good start. Lenten sacrifices →. One Response to “Life is for living!

Life begins at 40. Let's make the most of it. Archive February, 2012. Review of the film A Dangerous Method. Since my presentation has been postponed (it was supposed to be tomorrow but is now going to be next Monday), I’ve had a stress-free weekend. After brunch, Julian and I went out for a long and invigorating walk, finishing at the cinema, where we saw the much talked-about film A Dangerous Method. In always insisting his theories are the only correct ones are clearly depicted in both the book and th...

Life begins at 40. Let's make the most of it. Getting the hang of public speaking. Well now, I do believe I’m getting the hang of this public speaking malarky. Since my last post, I’ve made not one but. The one I’d prepared for so thoroughly, with the help of chapter 1 of that public speaking ebook. Went so well that I volunteered to do another little one today too. I can’t believe how far I’ve come in a few short months! It just shows what a bit of study and a bit of insight can do. I can do it! Review ...

Life begins at 40. Let's make the most of it. Archive May, 2012. Never too old to go back to school. Part of looking at life differently since I turned 40 involves doing my best to expose myself to new experiences but also opening my mind to new ways of thinking. To facilitate this, I’ve attended a few sessions at The School Of Life. Never too old to go back to school. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Getting the hang of public speaking. Life begins at 40. Let's make the most of it. Review of public speaking ebook Loving the Limelight (part 2). In November of last year, I had to make a big and important presentation at work. This was the first time I had really done any public speaking (mainly due to the fact I’d been avoiding it for decades) and I was scared. A huge help to me in my hour of need was an ebook called Loving the Limelight. My first review of public speaking ebook Loving the Limelight. Hearing Julian tell me those things ma...

Life begins at 40. Let's make the most of it. Here we are on Ash Wednesday and I have given up alcohol for lent. It’s not the first time I’ve done this and I know I can do it with relative ease but it’s still a useful exercise. It’s good for my body (though it’s always slightly disappointing I can’t actually. Reflections on the world of magic and the magic of the world. Tuesday, 28 April 2009. Have you been watching The Mentalist on channel 5? Better written, better defined and generally excellent, in my opinion, is the obsessive compulsive detective Monk. This is a funny, touching, engaging programme that I absolutely loved until the fabulous Sharona left and it wasn't the same any more. Posted by Georgie at 12:49. Thursday, 23 April 2009. I recently spent a day with my friends Marc Oberon. If you're a new m...
