What you need: 1 tablespoon moong dal. 1 tablespoon masoor dal. 1 tablespoon urad dal. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder. 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds. 2 tomatoes, chopped. 1 onion, chopped. 1 teaspoon chopped green chillies. 1 teaspoon chopped ginger. 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder. 2 tablespoons chopped coriander. Tuesday, August 19, 2008. Let’s start with boiled rice – a basic and staple food for Indians. All you need: 250 gms of Basmati rice. 2 cups of water. Soak the rice for half an hour, then drain the water. Transfer to a microwave safe casserole / dish, add 2 cups of water. Cook at 100% for 10 minutes. Then cook for a further 6 minutes at 60%.
