INKY SQUIGGLES: May 2013

http://www.inkysquiggles.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

A nook for the bookish. Friday, 31 May 2013. The Rise and Fall of a Kitchen Goddess. I began the spring semester of my second year at university with the firm resolve to be a kitchen goddess. Four months before, I had finally moved out of the residence halls into a stylish little apartment (albeit university-owned), and I was still enormously excited at the thought of having a proper home with lots of space to entertain, and without having to rely on the campus cafeteria for my meals.

Beautiful Moments: Suburban Growing Goodness

http://beautifulmoments-lynette.blogspot.com/2014/02/suburban-growing-goodness.html

Lynette's musings on life. Sunday, February 2, 2014. It's difficult to think anything but pleasant thoughts while eating a homegrown tomato.". Now that I'm in college, minus a garden or much free time, it's a little difficult to keep up with the gardening, although I'm determined to see what vegetables I can grow in pots on the balcony. The videos are informative, entertaining, and make growing your own extremely do-able. As spring is just around the corner, I encourage you to watch and be inspired!

Beautiful Moments: November 2011

http://beautifulmoments-lynette.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Lynette's musings on life. Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Passion (or absence thereof). I’ve been having some big issues with motivation lately – or rather, lack. Of motivation. I procrastinate on my papers, sweep over my Spanish, and tackle my other homework half-heartedly. I still get by well, although I am frankly uncomfortable giving less than my best. Except.I feel like I have little energy or inclination to give. Again, but I want to. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. This Easter ...

Beautiful Moments: December 2011

http://beautifulmoments-lynette.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Lynette's musings on life. Monday, December 19, 2011. Sometimes I like to picture myself as The Lady Bountiful. Not particularly in the sense of personal wealth—a huge mansion, acres of garden, and a closet entirely full of hats and shoes (although that wouldn’t be a bad thing, would it? 8212;but more in the sense of having money to give away. Perhaps I will never be really wealthy, cash-wise (there's so much more to riches than what's in the bank! Time Words. My talents and abilities. Even if I ...I lon...

Lynette's musings on life. Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Excruciating Pain and Incomprehensible Love. On Monday I went to a seminar about prophecy. At the end of the session, I forget exactly how we got onto the topic, but the presenter began to share some things he’d recently learned about crucifixion. “Did you know that we get our English word ‘excruciating’ from the practice of crucifixion? 8221; he said. “The word means,‘Out of the cross’…”. That was set before him…”. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). This Eas...

Lynette's musings on life. Friday, October 31, 2014. The Rat Race 2: The Courage of My Convictions. To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." Ralph Waldo Emerson. Change demands courage. Lynette's musings on life. Monday, December 29, 2014. The Insanity of Forgiveness. It's at such times that I can resonate with David's heated pleas, "Oh, that you would slay the wicked, O God! It's one thing for God to forgive me. After all, I'm basically good, right? I haven't committed war crimes. I haven't slaughtered innocents. I deserve forgiveness. Wicked people don't. Surely, to forgive the wicked doesn't make sense. Picture taken from www.christianfilmdatabase.com. Saturday, December 13, 2014.

http://beautifulmoments-lynette.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Lynette's musings on life. Tuesday, August 6, 2013. Do you ever wish that life had a soundtrack playing in the background? The soundtracks to Gladiator and Batman have gotten me through many late-night study sessions. Just today I woke up to Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1. Guaranteed to instill instant belief that today will be beautiful and grand), cleaned the kitchen with the excitement of Vivaldi's Spring. Music just makes everyday moments so much more epic. An evening at Starbucks with my brother.

Lynette's musings on life. Friday, December 28, 2012. I can’t be her. Frankly, I’m tired of living in her shadow. I’m tired of being jealous of her. I wanted to make you care for me like you care for her, but I’m so done trying. I will be myself; I will not be a second-rate her. I will not try to make you love me. Finally, I gave up. And that’s OK. (How freeing it is to say it! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Im an English/ESL teacher and UCL graduate student currently based in London.  Im growing a...This E...
