Saturday 14th May 2016. The Island Charity Swim. Every year they gather. Every year in August people gather on the Sunshine Coast to help the Nambour and Currimundi Special Schools. They swim from Mudjimba Beach, out around Old Woman Island and all the way to Mooloolaba. That’s 11km of swimming on the wrong side of the shark nets! Entry Forms and Medical Certificates due to be submitted. 630pm Alex Surf Club. Island Charity Swim commences at 7am at Mudjimba Beach. More Swim videos here.

A medical certificate, $1200 of fundraising for the local special needs schools, a paddler, a support boat and a willingness to fly North for the weekend are all that is required to complete my longest ever swim: The Island Charity Swim. Funds from my super lovely donors bought a new wheelchair bus for Currimindi and exercise equipment for Nambour. THANK YOU! Pia Best paddler in the business. Rounding Old Woman Island.
