Instead, they’ve been doing the opposite, and right under my nose! I just discovered a substantially large clutch of eggs which a chicken went and sat on. I had been checking for eggs every morning but because this wasn’t in their usual nesting area, I missed them. Filed in The Secret Life of Animals.

They both can squeeze through the bars of the cage but that hasn’t been a problem before, since even though they might squeeze out, they would just sit on top of the cage. Or Plato would.
