I was talking to a friend who lives in the area and he said he could hear the helicopters flying overhead - it is strange to be living so close to so much political activity! After waking up without an alarm clock (and sleeping in an extra hour thanks to day-light savings time), we went for a walk down to Starbucks and had chai tea and muffins for breakfast. Saturday, March 04, 2006. Yesterday Gwen and I went to get haircuts. Finding a place for under $50 proved to be a bit of a challenge, but we finally found a place that only charged $35 so we decided to give it a shot. I told the lady to cut one inch.which turned out to be about 3 inches.so I'm glad I didn't tell her to go any shorter! Good thing the curls will come back after a shower. Tuesday, March 07, 2006. Why I go to school in DC. Thanks to my good friend Cristina, I am a student member of the National Association of Women Judges - as a result I was able to attend a reception last night in which judges from all over the country were in attendance. I was able to meet the female justice on the South Dakota Supreme Court as well as other judges from around the country. Additionally, three US Supreme Court justices spoke at the event.
