Jeremy Green - Part 2

Analysis, Research and Consulting. Really good paper about “peak car”. Suggests that the decline in car ownership, usage, etc. is not only due to recession but also structural and behaviour change. Bearing in mind my earlier post about the rich walking to work. And looking at this rather interesting video from Javier Caletrio. About elite forms of mobility, is it possible that “not-driving” is also an example of taste transfer from the rich to the merely comfortable? But this latest announcement. In the ...

Analysis, Research and Consulting. You are here: Home. Plextek folds Senaptic into Telensa. Plextek folds Senaptic into Telensa. Described here, in this press release. A sensible move, I’d say. Telensa as a solution provider has some customers to point to, Senaptic is a slightly confusing end-to-end platform play. Can’t help loving the fact that the CEO is Will Gibson, though. Analysis, Research and Consulting. Sustainable Travel at Mobile World Congress 2009. I spent 15-18 February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. And is based on the map data set provided by Naviteq. I was also rather fond of. LocatioNet, which was showing off its ‘ AmAzeGPS. My personal travel ‘lowligh...

Analysis, Research and Consulting. You are here: Home. MOOnitor: the internet of cows, with satellites. The application of the Internet of Things (IoT) to the world of agriculture has seen something of an upsurge in the last few years. There have been projects and companies offering to connect eels. Two years ago at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona both Deutsche Telekom. Showed off connected cow services, and it’s hard to forget a company called Findmysheep. A cow wearing the MOOnitor collar. A researc...

Life Outside The Box: Carfree in Brighton & Hove, and Beyond: The road ahead for bus lanes in Brighton and Hove
http://livingthecarfreelife.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-road-ahead-for-bus-lanes-in.html
Life Outside The Box: Carfree in Brighton and Hove, and Beyond. Wednesday, 17 June 2015. The road ahead for bus lanes in Brighton and Hove. Fair enough, but bus lanes are an essential element of the Valley Gardens scheme, and if they aren’t dedicated to buses (and taxis, and bikes, and possibly powered two wheelers), there’s no point in having them. The clue is in the name. Over 60% local residents who responded supported the Lewes Road bus lanes during consultation. Both Universities are expanding with ...

Life Outside The Box: Carfree in Brighton & Hove, and Beyond: Brighton's i360 at ground level
http://livingthecarfreelife.blogspot.com/2015/07/800x600-normal-0-false-false-false-en.html
Life Outside The Box: Carfree in Brighton and Hove, and Beyond. Friday, 3 July 2015. Brighton's i360 at ground level. Close up of the “cans” for the Brighton i360, seen from the beach. Almost as impressive as the cans, is the fact that they all arrived from the Netherlands by barge (in fact, two barges), and were offloaded onto a platform on the beach. Picture below, showing the finished article, taken from the hoardings around the site, courtesy i360. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Give Up Your Car.

In 2011, Jeremy Green was living in a state of flux while delivering art across Canada; alternating between life on the road and just a few days each month at his home and studio in Vancouver. During this period he developed a new process to create large ‘skins’ of acrylic paint that he then wrapped around panels and stretcher bars. Jeremy Green, 2009-2012.

Analysis, Research and Consulting. Cities and the sharing economy. So this guide for municipalities. Prepared by the Canadian city of Guelph looks to be really useful – particularly since it sets out six decisions that municipalities need to make, and provides a handy set of resources. And while we’re on the subject, the Belgian city of Ghent has prepared a report (and a wiki). About commons-based initiatives in the city. The report is in Flemish…. Connected bikes shed new light on smart cities. Both pil...

So, what were the main benefits compared to static HTML? I was able to be up and running with lots of standard HTML elements (like headings, paragraphs, and tables) almost immediately. Then, as we worked together I could use the same elements repeatedly without copying and pasting any HTML or Twig. Along with the separation of duties, ...
