KELLY: July 2012
http://kellyinbeantown.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
City mama style, boots books blah blah blah, 90s nostalgia, vintage, short haircuts forever. July 30, 2012. The Time In Between. By David Bergen (2006). Emphasizes that visiting a place does not mean you know that place. Beautifully explores the unmappable spaces of grief and loss. Combines intellectual inquiry (memory, trauma, mourning) with lush, tactile description (a typhoon, fresh bread, thin wrists). Labels: three-bullet book review. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Girls of a Certain Age.

KELLY: three-bullet book review

City mama style, boots books blah blah blah, 90s nostalgia, vintage, short haircuts forever. May 14, 2012. By Alan Hollinghurst (2011). Follows fictional First World War poet Cecil Valance through juvenilia, initial fame, early death, canonization, standardization, neglect and revival. Casts aspersions on the intent, utility and reliability of literary history, especially biographical criticism and literary memoir. Yes, if the basic premise. Cameos by poets and critics I've studied! The Strangers Child 3...

Fashion from the perspective of a vegan with socialist leanings, but capitalist desires. November 4, 2010 in Uncategorized. I promise I’m not posting this as a cop-out. It wasn’t a case of, ‘gee, I’m tired, so I guess I’ll post the only outfit picture I have.’ It’s more a case of, help me style this top! The top in question:. And here’s the outfit I came up with:. It’s. . . fine, right? But that’s all. It’s just fine. Nothing to write home (or blog) about. But the top is cute, no? Much of the week was no...

Sample Sale, more food, some sewing. | What I Wore

Fashion from the perspective of a vegan with socialist leanings, but capitalist desires. Sample Sale, more food, some sewing. November 5, 2010 in Uncategorized. Top, but holy shit, sample sales are tempting as well. As I left, all I could think was, really? I went in with a very limited budget, I knew exactly what I needed, and I was still seduced by things that would ultimately just be another expense, and take up valuable closet real estate to boot. I’m a breakfast girl! And so, it’s sewing time! Just ...

Thursday, June 14, 2012. Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain That is pouring like an avalanche, coming down the mountain. A different kind of report folks! Here is the story of my no summit of Mt Hood, the highest point of OR. We planned this trip a few years ago when the High Pointers. And spent a lot of time lingering at the host hotel, swapping stories, looking at the weather, and planning. We spent one free afternoon driving out to Bagby Hotsprings. Dave then stood up and an...

Friday, August 26, 2011. You better be good to me. So far, this has been a pretty fun week. On Wed. nights, I usually run with a group from Sports Basement. It's a fun diverse group of runners and while I really enjoy running alone, it's nice to have some company from time to time. After this week's run, there was a Fit Fest, which had about a dozen vendors and snacks and raffles. Raffles are always fun! I did win a raffle, it was a gift bag with a rather interesting array of items, including:. Last nigh...

Sunday, September 18, 2011. This week was a very sold training week, I was tired from our trip to AZ, but things went well:. Tues 6.4 miles with 5x1k. Wed: 3.6 easy. Sat 3 easy, 4 mile race. I went into the week tired and was pretty much running tired all week, but ran everything as planned. According to the race website:" The 4 mile course is relatively flat and fast within Mitchell Canyon" The key word there is RELATIVELY. Here's the profile for the 4 miler. For the start, I wanted to be up front since...

Monday, June 27, 2011. I keep up with the racing rats. Welcome to my new training plan: run almost not at all and race my way into semi-shape. I'll let you know how that works out for me. Anyway, here's an update:. Last week at the races, I thought I was 4th. I was actually 3rd. I know moving to SF I've coming to a much smaller pond of runners. I've never placed so high so often in races. Links to this post. Friday, June 17, 2011. It's all business in the left hand lane. Update from last week's race:.
