Klussendorf Blog: September 2006
http://klussendorf.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 24, 2006. One of our highlights in Firenze is not the art galleries or Ponte Vecchio or even the Duomo. It’s the central food market, Mercado Centrale. Surrounded by street stall hawking leathers and t-shirts, it can easily go unnoticed. But if you’re any kind of foodie or have an interest in Italian culture, do not miss it. Klussendorf Blog: July 2006
http://klussendorf.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 30, 2006. Capped off a week of good riding this am with Bob Power on his soon-to-be-famous Emerson Hills ride. Toasty day in the midwest. Spell that heat-and-humidity. 80 degrees at 0730. So we didn't ride to hard or too far, but still got in all the hills Bob can find. We were soaked by the end of the short ride. Like Bob said, "It's like riding through warm milk". Posted by Kurt Klussendorf @ 6:39 PM. Thursday, July 20, 2006. Thanks sister, for being there. For me and for Mom. I owe you one.

Monday, April 30, 2007. Back home and finally time to start cycling again. Is my kickoff for this year. I was able to loop wife Barb and a few other friends into the junket. We did the short 43-miler and it. Makes my long ride for the year. Well, it is the start of the year. Barb and Co. did great. And you meet the nicest people knocking a few back Sunday morning. Well, it is. Posted by Kurt Klussendorf @ 3:41 PM. 4/19 and left a week later. Birded every dang day. They can’t all be winners. We have never...

Thursday, November 02, 2006. Also saw more Snow Buntings than ever up there. They've come down to northern WI and MN for the winter. Beautiful birds. Loons and eagles are slowly leaving the area. Got in a nice bike ride today with a few friends. It didn't break freezing today for the first time since March. A few flurries, some salty puddles and a fresh breeze. What more could you want? Guess I better finish raking. Posted by Kurt Klussendorf @ 6:41 PM. Stevens Point, Wisconsin, United States.

Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Great 50-mile ride this am. I may be OK for BroFest yet. And I got out early and timed it perfectly between last night’s rains and those expected later today. Pretty strong throughout, and the double espresso got me to the finish. And I make a good team. Some stoopid broad raced out from a gas station on the left. Right in front of us. At first I thought she was only going to side swipe us. But no, straight across the road to another driveway. Was 15 feet in front of me. You see ...

Klussendorf Blog: March 2007
http://klussendorf.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 30, 2007. Is running two weeks earlier than normal. On Friday 3/23, Randy Frederickson counted 110,000 snow geese in. On Sunday 3/25 we headed to. 200 miles south of. Trip, one of our local Audubon chapters. We had all the trappings of a successful Audubon trip. A hole-in-the-wall hotel, an out of the way location, a motley assortment of birders. And trip leader Craig Mandel. Sunday evening we checked a few lakes. A couple of scaup here, some distant mergansers there. Monday started the same.

Tuesday, October 24, 2006. Every time I go to see a 'cross race I get to jonesing for a cross bike. It is so cool and it'd be d-y-n-o-mite to have a cross bike for ripping around town. Perhaps I'll set up over the Winter. I missed a slug of mountain bike races this year too, so it was good to bump into some ski and MTB buddies at the race. Not sure how many more races I've got in my old carcass, but if these fossils can do it. Posted by Kurt Klussendorf @ 6:13 PM. Tuesday, October 17, 2006. The hockey Ba...

Klussendorf Blog: February 2007

Monday, February 26, 2007. I did not ski the Birkie. My knee’s been yapping at me too much, so I thought it best to let it mend up for a bit. No skate skiing, some classic, lower distances. Anyway the weather’s been absolutely crap for skiing. Basically nothing in much of. We did have a really freaky few days of thunderstorms around the New Year. If it had been snow, we’d be in grand shape. So skiing was zero-to-poor all winter and even worse for classic skiing. But warm temps early in the week (50s!
