The Macomb Daily Blogs: Mac Arnold's Hunting & Fishing Spectacular: June 2007
http://machunts.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Place A Classified Ad. Mac Arnolds Hunting and Fishing Spectacular. Tuesday, June 05, 2007. For those who may be wondering what happened May 30 - the last turkey excursion of Spring 2007, I can tell you this, it wasn't good. But it wasn't as bad as I initially made it, I suppose. I hit the target assault area - an unplowed Ingham County, Michigan, field where the three gobblers - known as "The Three Stooges" - were last seen displaying May 28. He bit, and was slowly making his way to me. Twice they came ...

The Macomb Daily Blogs: Mac Arnold's Hunting & Fishing Spectacular: October 2005
http://machunts.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Place A Classified Ad. Mac Arnolds Hunting and Fishing Spectacular. Sunday, October 30, 2005. After a 2 1/2-year shooting drought in the deer archery woods where I've been everything from extra patient to restricted by law, I finally let an arrow go at hoofed brute. It happened at 7:15 pm Friday in Ingham County, Mich., at my friend Walt's spot once again. There were grunts and bleats, but most notably, was the sound of a buck wheezing. I blew it. I moved just a hair behind what I thought was a decen...

The Macomb Daily Blogs: Mac Arnold's Hunting & Fishing Spectacular: Hibernating
http://machunts.blogspot.com/2013/01/hibernating.html
Place A Classified Ad. Mac Arnolds Hunting and Fishing Spectacular. Wednesday, January 16, 2013. For anyone wondering where I went, I'm still around but I haven't gotten back into the woods since the debacle of a hunt on New Year's Day. I mean it ended well as far as obtaining tasty venison vittles but not so good for peace of mind. I'm all good now but I had to get a couple of breaks in order to make it that way. I can tell you all this: next New Year's Day I WILL NOT BE HUNTING. Michigan, United States.

The Macomb Daily Blogs: Mac Arnold's Hunting & Fishing Spectacular: May 2006
http://machunts.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Place A Classified Ad. Mac Arnolds Hunting and Fishing Spectacular. Wednesday, May 17, 2006. Gobbler luck turned around. The day of May 15 ended up much better than it started for my Michigan turkey hunt. As I sat at the site in the gloom and dampness just above the Ingham County swamp that seemed an eternity to get to, the call from my cell phone went out to my wife: "What time did you tell (the babysitter) I would pick up the kids? I looked at the time on the cell phone clock - 6:23 am. I considered mo...

The Macomb Daily Blogs: Mac Arnold's Hunting & Fishing Spectacular: August 2007
http://machunts.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Place A Classified Ad. Mac Arnolds Hunting and Fishing Spectacular. Tuesday, August 21, 2007. Ordinarily I would have already reported on a hunt by now, here it is early September. But the nuisance goose season opener, Sept. 1, has come and gone and without my presence gracing a Michigan river bottom. With finances in mind, as well as a concerned wife, I opted to drop waterfowl from the 2007 hunting agenda. I know, you're asking, "Mac, how could you let your wife bully you out of a fun season like that?

The Macomb Daily Blogs: Mac Arnold's Hunting & Fishing Spectacular: September 2006

Place A Classified Ad. Mac Arnolds Hunting and Fishing Spectacular. Sunday, September 24, 2006. Midway through the woodcock opener Saturday, Sept. 23, my wingman for the day, John Breck (of "Double Bagger" lore, see last issue of www.macshuntingmag.com), pointed to the bloody snout of my faithful four-legged companion Henry as if there was cause for alarm. Naw," I shrugged and said almost nonchalantly as a way to play up his red badge of courage, "his biggest problem today is the heat.". Oh, you got one?

The Macomb Daily Blogs: Mac Arnold's Hunting & Fishing Spectacular: Will there be a top hunt in 2012?
http://machunts.blogspot.com/2012/12/will-there-be-top-hunt-in-2012.html
Place A Classified Ad. Mac Arnolds Hunting and Fishing Spectacular. Thursday, December 20, 2012. Will there be a top hunt in 2012? I would say look for Mac's Top Hunts of 2012 here but as the fall hunting seasons are winding down, it's looking like there won't be one. It has been one of the most trying years I can remember in some time, probably on the same level of 2008 when I took four does to make two and when I was blanked in 2000 for the first time ever since I started hunting in 1994. Slow go so far.

Place A Classified Ad. Mac Arnolds Hunting and Fishing Spectacular. Friday, September 30, 2005. Surprisingly, today, I was back at it. Was thinking not, being it was windy with rain in the forecast. But child duty was staring me in the face for Friday and the weekend; there would be no other time this week. I had to hit the timberdoodle woods Thursday. I was just dying to see how my rookie pointer would do. And while Hank received a fair grade, I give the shooter a poor grade. Nobody is tougher on me...

Place A Classified Ad. Mac Arnolds Hunting and Fishing Spectacular. Thursday, August 31, 2006. This is a tribute to my friend Mike Phillips of Mercer County, Pa., who is gravely ill. To see a picture of Mike's buck and more on our hunting adventures, log on to my online hunting magazine at www.macshuntingmag.com). Mike Phillips arched his back, looked skyward and then down at his watch. It was a little after 1 pm. As he peered through the gap, he couldn't believe the scene that was out in front of him...

The Macomb Daily Blogs: The Insider: Fouts wins birthdate dispute. Who loses?
http://themacombdailyinsider.blogspot.com/2011/06/fouts-wins-birthdate-dispute-who-loses.html
Place A Classified Ad. Thursday, June 9, 2011. Fouts wins birthdate dispute. Who loses? The Insider has to take his hat off to Warren Mayor Jim Fouts after the old guy, er, young guy, beat a political opponent's attempt to force him to release his birth date. Fouts said Thursday he was pleased with the ruling because it blocked an attempt to hijack the election and supports his fight against ageism. So you go, Mr. Fouts for fending off that weapon of mass destruction with the skill of a young champion.
