I’ve had some pretty good things come my way since the last time I wrote in November… The biggest was moving to Cincinnati to apprentice with the 3rd-generation, Italian master tailor, Mike Trotta. I just recently finished making an oversized sweatshirt as a side project incorporating a lot of what I've learned from the craft of tailoring, while marrying it to a fashion perspective. Friday, March 4, 2011. FIT vs. Parsons Collection Preview - Beautiful Calamity. My inspiration for Beautiful Calamity came from two sources. The starting point came from the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010. Causing tremendous disruption to our environment and animals (humans included), it was a very emotional topic. and rightly so. Of all animals, humans have the capacity to feel the greatest range and depth of emotions. I believe when our emotions are stirred, the best creative output occurs.
